This is their official statement. It has been circulating but since no one has posted it, I thought I might. I did play with them at one time and did get paid. I hope they make good on all those being slow-payed.
Here is a statement from AJ of DirecBet:
Dear Clients and Industry Personnel,
We want to make the following statement to clarify the current situation regarding DirecBet.
As you are hearing through the rumor mill, DirecBet is at present in a ‘slow-pay’ situation. It is essential that you understand that this is ‘slow-pay’ and very far from ‘no-pay’. I am quite happy to admit that since opening DirecBet, we have embraced various situations from dealing with a very wise orientated client base, trying to find a suitable US bookmaker and learning the general dynamics of the US marketplace whilst building our shop. However, our 95% Internet business is in good shape. Our client base that is mainly European is growing rapidly and preparing us well for the future. We will always admit that our expert areas are in European sports rather than the US sports, but we will always offer US sports with reasonable limits as a service to our clients.
With our on-line lottery now exceeding expectations, and our service agreements with the UK public company whom we host web services for, our overhead is minimal and profitability is on a sharp upward trend.
Our current ‘slow-pay’ situation is envisaged to last at the latest until the second week in October when a second trench of financing is due. In the meantime we will be making consistent partial payments to clients. At the stage when the next trench of financing arrives, all outstanding clients will be paid.
We profusely apologise for this delay in payment but can guarantee that the situation will be resolved to the best of our ability. In the meantime we will continue to offer a consistent level of service to our 19,000 existing clients.
Best regards,
Aj Thompson www.direcbet.com
