I disagree to a point. You'd be surprised at the number of books that really do care about their customers and go that extra mile to resolve a problem to the players satisfaction even when the player might be in the wrong.

Jeff...fair enough, I wouldn't want you to keep something quiet so I could get paid, that's only screwing somebody else.

I have heard of mergers and stuff before where you can get your funds if you roll them so many times, etc.

Just knew you have a lot of contacts in this industry and thought maybe they would look to you for some assistance. If they aren't even responding to you knowing you guys are the leaders in this area, I guess it doesn't look good.

You're right though, either I'll get paid or not. Thanks for the reply.

This topic is right on. Us players probably don't speak up enough. I know I shrug off bad service but really should post about it. This is all we have in the way of regulation and we should all stick together.

Jeff, I'm not saying that quality books don't care. What I'm saying is that there is no consensus as to what is the level of service that is acceptable. As in any business, it's much cheaper to retain a customer than to get a new one. Some books understand this and also respect the value of a good rep etc. On the other hand there are many books that have a take it or leave it attitude. But the point that I was attempting to make is that a site like this, despite it's popularity as compared to its peers,...... reaches a miniscule percentage of players. This is not an insult, but rather the truth. Couple this with the fact that the prevailing attitude among sportsbooks seems STILL to be that they have only reached the tip of the iceberg when it comes to "potential" players, and you get an attitude of "screw em!" Lip service aside, I'd be interested to see how many of the 60 plus or minus books you have on the list would really respond to the level you suggest.

When that day comes, the risk managers at Royal Sports will still be giving away 10% bonuses, dealing Dime Lines in baseball, giving world-class customer service, still sending smoked turkeys for the holidays and we'll all agree "these are the good old days".

Egg Nog, who do you consider to be the "half dozen real books"?

I treat Jeff's word as good as gold. He's here to help us bettors out and unlike several other "geniune" places in the net he will not sabotage books because of any advertising arrangements. He is always honest with his announcements, and time and time again he's proven that he is dedicated to ensuring as safe a betting environment as possible. Without Bettorsworld I don't think I'd trust 95% of the books out there... this is the only place to trust when it comes to keeping an eye on the industry.

Steve, if you have something to share about Horizon, I'd be very pleased if you'd tell us. They don't advertise here, you don't have to be that cryptic.
