  • So which books are ultra safe?

I see all this talk of the safe books. I can't afford to take chances. Which books should I consider?

I've seen the financial statements for Canbet and Sportingbet. Can't go wrong with either of them. There are several super safe books listed on this site but you'll never see their financial statements since they are privately held.

Doesn't hurt to take into consideration how long they have been in business. Also, try searching the archives here for info.

In business for what seems like forever are WWTS, Bowmans, Carib, Olympic, Intertops, Aces Gold, SOS.

      No need to lose sleep.

INTERTOPS (my first online book that I played with before Bettorsworld was formed - Oddswiz at the time, as solid as it gets)
WILLIAM HILL (also mega-solid, but bad for US sports)
LADBROKES (solid, solid, solid, but bad, bad, bad with US sports, also doesn't accept US clients)

Yep....you have to mention the William Hills and Ladbrokes when you talk about super safe. But I was disappointed with their American Sports efforts. Maybe they feel the market just isn't big enough but I would think a William Hill could take over several smaller offshores and grab a big piece of the market...........but then, Victor Chandler tried that and got out, so who knows...

I agree, William Hill failed miserably in getting a grasp on the US betting market. They should have taken over a solid operation already in existence to get a foot-hold in this competitive market. Instead they tried to start from scratch and couldn't cope with it. Ladbrokes, on the other hand, didn't even try but then they are owned by the Hilton group and might have been worried about legal issues.
