Let me add to the long list of antics by one of the least respectable books in the business. On Saturday the 24th of November, they blocked my Internet account and forced me to call them. They told me that I had to call my bets in from that point on. Three times the next day I called to make a bet on a posted line, and all three times they moved the line on me so I couldn’t bet the number posted. On Monday the 26th, I requested my money via Neteller. Neteller told me I had to call them. For the next three days Sportbet told me that they would deposit the money in my Neteller account, and let me know by email, but they never did. I called them about five times over that three-day period requesting my money. On Wednesday November 28, when I called again for my money, I was forwarded to Jack Slater, the general manager. Mr. Slater knew why I was requesting my money and offered me the option of continuing to bet on the Internet with Sportbet at half the limit, ($500), if I wanted too. I agreed and said that was fine.
Between Wednesday and Saturday, I lost about $6000 of my balance and only had a little over $2000 left in my account. On Sunday December 2, Sportbet once again blocked me from making a bet on the Internet, and forced me to call them. I talked to the linesman (Eric), who told me that he didn’t want my type of business. When I asked to speak to Mr. Slater, I was told he wasn’t there.
Later that day I requested my remaining funds via Neteller. On Monday afternoon, after again another phone call, they deposited my remaining funds in Neteller.
Sportbet deliberately stalled on paying me the $8,000. Then four days later reneged on our agreement and imposed their rinky-dink way of making book. I am happy to be rid of them. For future information to others, I would be very leery of any book who can’t handle $500 bets, and whose management lies to their customers so they don’t have to pay them in a timely manor. With so many reputable good books now in business, there is no reason to sweat out being paid and going through the aggravation books like Sportbet imposes on you if you want to make a bet.
