JC Did you get your Interactive linesmaker from Enron?
Major rant on WSEX interactives which has to be the biggest con going in golf wagers. Not only do they lock you out while adjusting odds till tv coverage but will not give any opps for buying in modestly before round starts. This is perfect tourney to buy some $2 shares on some anticipated contenders. Here are their $2 offers.

    BUICK-GOLF2002 JOSE MARIA OLAZABAL 13021 0 2
    BUICK-GOLF2002 MATT KUCHAR 13034 0 2
    BUICK-GOLF2002 PAT PEREZ 13035 0 2
    BUICK-GOLF2002 MIGUEL JIMENEZ 13036 0 2
    BUICK-GOLF2002 MATHEW GOGGIN 13037 0 2
    BUICK-GOLF2002 KEVIN SUTHERLAND 13014 0 2
    BUICK-GOLF2002 PHIL MICKELSON 13010 0 2
    BUICK-GOLF2002 STEWART CINK 13025 0 2
    BUICK-GOLF2002 JESPER PARNEVIK 13018 0 2
    BUICK-GOLF2002 TOM LEHMAN 13016 0 2
    BUICK-GOLF2002 LEE JANZEN 13020 0 2

Of the 11 over half have missed cut and they won't put up odds on 8 players sitting currently in 11th or better UNTILL they see where they stand after lockout period at start of tv coverage and if doing well it won't be @ $2

After this rant I might add that they are still among my fav outs and their other golf offerings have improved and they are one of the 1st to post lines.Hard to comprehend that such a fine book would put this con in.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Went back out of curiousity to see if they would let you wager on player that had already missed cut.

YOUR ORDER REFERENCE NUMBER IS: 20993408-0015366 ACCEPTED: ORDER FILLED:BOT 1 of 1 PHIL MICKELSON $ 2

Ain't that the PITS!! Let you wager on someone who missed the cut! Aren't these guys for real. And a sponsor yet!

Shame on them, and shame on you if you bet there!

I'm a small bettor who has been playing with WSEX since they started. They have the best software (IMHO), are courteous and most importantly, they PAY promptly. My one complaint is that they are sometimes slow in putting up the 2nd half line of NFL games that are also interactive.

I think their best feature is their interactives.

      Regarding your commets

"Not only do they lock you out while adjusting odds till tv coverage" - I don't know how they get their scoring updates pre-tv, but I'd guess it's from the PGAtour.com feed or something similar. This feed is 5 - 10 minutes slow. Would you personally be willing to make a market where the player could have a 10 minute advantage on you?

"but will not give any opps for buying in modestly before round starts." - I don't understand your point here. You can buy in after each round ends up until the next round starts. You yourself bought Mickelson this morning around 7 am.

"they won't put up odds on 8 players sitting currently in 11th or better UNTILL they see where they stand after lockout period at start of tv coverage" - I agree with your point here. They used to have a "field" bet.

Regarding being able to bet on players who have missed the cut, I agree they should remove them for simplicity sake (It would make it easier to identify the "live" players that you could potentially bet on). It's not a big deal because anyone willing to put money on somebody after 2 rounds without knowing where that player is in the standings deserves to part with their money.

I know the markets are either open or closed. If you could buy Mickelson, then you could have traded any other contestant. It is not possible to turn of contestants individually.

I can't blame Steve for not wanting to make markets when the coverage is not on or before he knows where people stand. There was a time when he did do that and it was very draining to sit there and continuously reload the PGA scoreboard on the web which as pointed out can be behimd and make markets at the same time.

Jay Been with you all forever and would rate WSEX as one of my favorite books.I understand that interactives of golf are different than other sports because of lock out. I also understand that your exposure to risk would be to great due to "on course" betters that had privvy to info you do not during no live coverage.
The fore mentioned puts punters at big disadvantage but in your defense it is necessary,HOWEVER their is no excuse to put us at further disadvantage by not lining those in contention PRIOR to round starting instead of waiting till they are half way through round and then lining them according.
The only sporting shot we have against necessary weighted disadvantage to begin with is
is being able to speculate on $2 to $4 a share players coming in contention, but as it has been recently the only $2 players available are those that have already missed cut are dropped out of site.Yesterdays example of having no lines on 8 players in top 11 prior to start of 3rd round is "unexceptable".
