Someone might consider that if this site wasn't involved in childish games with other sites that, perhaps, the player might get the information he needs in a timely manner to avoid losing hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

Also, maybe instead of a bunch of hucksters taking up space there might actually be important information exchanged regarding the status of some of the offshores...not to mention insights on the games.

I could always recommend any book on "the list" but, no more. No one can predict this type of demise (or can they?) but, there's a line to be drawn between supporting advertisers and protecting the players.

Check out how many threads and words were devoted to blasting other sites and other people that no one cares about except for a dopey few.

That attention should have been focused on this situation. Watchdog huh?

Just got around to reading my e-mail. Here's what I got from BW on Feb 14th.

"We all know Aces Gold Casino is a great book who now has implemented a smart new business plan. They are here to stay and your money is and always was safe. What you might not know is their LIVE lines are available NOT on the Don Best Premium feed but on Oddswiz lines feed. If you play at Aces then you best get the feed."

Looks like it was a smart business plan for a few. No doubt those few will be back soon operating a new book.

Guys, remember last year when Fairdeal was taken over by Legal/Five Card Charlies and everyone gave them all that shit about not paying that one guy.......and paying everyone else 100%. Very very few people here and at the other sites sympathized with Legal.......and everyone had this holier than thou, high moral ground position. Well guess what? I guess we can certainly write off Legal/Five Card as a potential Curacao suitor. There you had a situation where a book did it right for 99+% of the players and got RIPPED so big that you would have thought that THEY were the ones who stiffed everyone. So what was the message sent??? Clearly it was.................
Hey unless you can satisfy 100% of the bettors for 100% of the money..........no matter what you do, you're going to look and smell like shit. Sure potential suitors look at the numbers, but they also look at perceptions.

azbob, agree 100% with the above post. there used to be a ton of poster here that knew the gambling industry and the people behind the counter. they knew the in's and outs of the business. but they either got banned or just got tired of the bs. imo this site lost a lot when they lost that core of posters. the OTHER site (not rx) at least has some info. and not just ACES is down the tube.

I had $11,809 in my account. I received $1,000 via Western Union and I was waiting on a $6,000 check which supposedly went out last Friday. I'm hoping that with an international wire, the money is in transit. What are the chances of that or can the bank on their end pull the money back even after they started the transaction? I have emails from the lying fuck Rick that me wire went out last Friday and would hit by the end of this week. This fuck was just stalling me I assume knowing this was going to happen. I was actually going to leave $4,809 in my account as good faith that I believed their bullshit that everything would fix itself.

                  From the Canbet site
".. Bookmakers are required to keep punters moneys separate from their own in a segregated trust account. We add winnings and take out losses, but we always have the total of punters’ funds in that separate account.

.. The Government regulator checks the adequacy of bookmakers’ cash reserves. "

The bottom line is the Aces situation could NOT happen with govt regulation such as this.

Wonderful, but have you seen the money in a separate acct.? Have you seen the regulation or the paperwork? For your information, Curacao books have long stated a similar policy. In fact one of them even claimed that keeping post ups separate are a "government regulation". So............

I started to post up with AG. But after seeing so much negative press at Rx and SBR, I decided not to. Looks like those sites aren't as full of sh!t as some people thought.

chestrockwells, you can read Canbet’s annual reports and Australian Stock Exchange Announcements at http://www.canbetlimited.com.au/ , the latest announcement is December 2001 Interim Report, published Feb 12 2002. IMO that’s very close to actually ‘seeing the money’ and they seem to be doing OK.

Thankyou, however I think after today we all have a right to be a bit sceptical and more than a bit pissed off. So, no offense BUT my official response on a day like today is............

Thankyou, I don't have the link on hand but I'm sure I can dig up the annual report and interim reports from the New York Stock Exchange on Enron as well as a multitude of analyst reports and other assorted bullshit that describes how financially secure that company is.

Azbob. Great comments! Nothing better than a Monday morning quarterback.

The most important comment you made is that no one cares but a dopey few. That my friend, is the problem.

The Aces Gold thing is a shame. We were conned right along with most of the rest of this industry. Wiseguys, Sportsbooks, web sites. Don Best only took their lines down when ACES asked them to. Most believed Aces would regroup right up until the day before they flew the coop!

But back to the dopey few........you're right. We thought that more than a dopey few would care about some of the things that have been pointed out over time. But unfortunaltely, some people prefer not to know. I suppose so they can blame someone else when things don't go their way.

Just remember, we're talking about a guy who currently accepts advertising dollars from pro 5 sports. Also known as play horizon. Also know as Action Sports of Leo Walters and Ray Meyers fame. This sportsbook flat out stiffed people and changed their name to keep operating.

This guy also apparantly has information pertaining to a sportsbook who was stiffed a million from Aces Gold. What sportsbook is it? Do you think the players have a right to know? Does it matter? Will that million dollar hit hurt the book in question? Gee. I wonder? He knows who the book is. Do you??

But if we use az bob logic, we should just ignore that. Brush it under the rug.

I guess that's what we'll do. Because no one cares but a dopey few......

I hope someone comes to rescue, for example buys the clients from ACES for half the amount that is owed and then put a 10 or 20 time rollover on the clients they bought. I'm hoping something like this happens. Right now I am out $11,809. I read that Royal, Pinnacle and VIP are looking at a situation like this to buy the clients. Has any one else heard of this.

                                Great...more of the same.

Take a look around over the past year or two. Keep the same attitude, fight the same personal fights, parcel your attention between things that matter and things that don't.

One might think that at least with some cooperation, sharing and attention, the player might have a 10% chance of being aware of books with problems versus the 0% chance we have now.

I've always been a big backer of this site and by no means blame anyone here for what happened at Aces.

It just seems that the posters here are the only ones aware of the fact that some things should change.
