In Order Of Post Positions:1 Johannesburg has pretty good tactical speed but the rail is a lousy place to be in a 20 horse field.
2 Wild Horses seems hard pressed to get the distance.
3 Perfect Drift owns good tracking speed and been stretching out nicely. CONTENDER.
4 Lusty Latin will be flying late but might be too far back. Slim.
5 War Emblem will be one of the main speeds, but will get tired late.
6 Ocean Sound may try to rate. Too long of a race.
7 Request For Parole might burn out.
8 Essence Of Dubai is very INTRIGUING for several reasons. He is the only horse that won at this distance. He has improved dramatically since last year’s Breeders’ cup. He can rate to get a share. CONTENDER.
9 Medagila d’Oro will go as far as he can.
10 Buddha SCRATCHED
11 Private Emblem owns the right kind of tactical speed to win a race like this, but may have traffic problems in the first turn. CONTENDER.
12 Castle Gandolfo was a second at this distance in France. He will close very well for JD. CONTENDER.

14 Harlan’s Holiday also rates but must overcome bad post and traffic to get a clean trip. DEFINITELY A CONTENDER.
