You may just be one guy, but you are the guys that count. People need to hear the good as well as the bad. More people like yourself should come forward to defend a situation that appears to be incorrectly reported.

It may be foolishness, but there are a lot of people who read, but don't post and these people may be led astray unless someone like yourself comes forward.

rio an honest book? oh puh-leeze!!!

just look at their name: rio

sounds like an established las vegas casino: the rio hotel and casino

      that was the idea, folks

to trick/fool/bamboozle/con/scam the unknowing into thinking an illegal costa rican internet sportsbook was somehow connected to or owned by the real and legit rio in vegas

gee, why would the bogus rio do that? to gain instant (but phony) credibility from the uninformed and slightly slow?

rio didn't get away with it for long, though...the real rio hotel and casino sued the rip off rio recently in court over this trademark infringement and won...the bogus rio had to relinquish its betrio.com website url and more suits are coming until rio loses the name rio

this is a reputable and upstanding sportsbook? yeah, and chandra levy was a friggin' virgin!!!

Look, none of us know which books are "solid" or not. The only thing we can go on is longevity, track record, and recent indications. RIO has been in business for years, has never ever put me off even a single day for large payouts and I have never/ever heard of someone being slow/no paid, and recently acquired another book (SKYBOOK). If anyone has any other significant information, let them post it here - otherwise let the garbage die!

Her name is Rio,and she dances on the sand...

By this line of argument, you can say that the Rio Hotel and Casino in LV (my favorite place to stay, BTW) was guilty of trying to fool people into thinking that their hotel was like carnival in Rio De Janerio, Brazil. Which, basically, is what they're doing....not "fooling people" but trying to evoke that atmosphere. My guess is that the Rio Sportsbook is doing the same thing.

There's a lot of offshore books/casinos that try to ride on an established casino's identity, but I've got to give the Rio Sportsbook the benefit of the doubt here. Businesses named "Rio" are a dime a dozen. Here in Charleston, there's a tanning salon named Rio--and they've probably never heard of the casino in Las Vegas!

The whole domain name appeal process is a strange one--for example, the World Wrestling Federation recently lost their claim to the wwf.com domain name to the World Wildlife Fund. Both should, in theory, have a right to the initials "WWF" but the courts found for the animal charity. The fact that Rio Sportsbook lost a domain name appeal means very little about the veracity of their business.

I've played a little at Rio Sportsbook and have never had a problem, FWIW. They don't have the hot cocktail waitresses like the Las Vegas Rio, but that's my only complaint ; )

Don't worry. I didn't forget. Steve Turner, man oh man, you'll get some answers soon enough. I just need a little time to put everything in order. Then, day by day, I'll provide a new tidbit for your reading pleasure.

Hey Patrick the mic. You requested a whole 4 digit payout? You and you're partner no less? Must be high rollers! LOL You regularly SWEAT these small payouts? Where the hell do you play?? Man oh man, Stevo Turner and any other sportsbetting geniuses, what is your opinion of sportsbooks who not only book but bet as well? Seems to be a hot topic around here and I'd LOVE to hear your views on this.

Why the name calling? I'm just putting forth my past experiences with them. I never claimed to be a high roller, far from it. LOL! Sweat the pay-out? No we didn't sweat anything, that was the point of me responding. We have always got paid when we asked.

For the record I'm not calling you a liar, hell who knows. Again just passing on my experiences in the thread. Good day.

I never had a problem with a payout from them, but I have had trouble getting the runaround on the phones when I've had questions or problems. Seems like no one knows who to transfer me to. I can't believe they bet in the same way a customer does--wouldn't they know since they make money of all losers like me that you can't gamble and win on a regular basis?

you guys all crack me up. who's protecting a book, who's trashing a book. it never ends. like i've said before, there might be 5 books worth playing at in this industry. rio is not one of them.

rio has been on the verge of bankruptcy before. that is very well known. roy from rio is a degenerate gambler. that is also well known. at one time roy owed a truck load.

rio lost well over a million dollars to aces gold. they knew aces was going down months before it happened and never said one word. if they opened their mouths they could have saved players millions.

you guys like to break my balls about being negative. bring it on my friends. i've been right too many times. rio is a fucking joke. take that to the bank.

                              egg nog,

You're probably better off for having not what I would call a negative attitude but more of a cynical, realistic one. MANY books knew Caribi was going down the drain over six months before they did. Many books were owed money by Caribi, for both gambling debts and customer transfers. They weren't about to speak up for fear of not getting paid themselves. A completely unbiased party is impossible to find in this biz. Everyone is more concerned about their own interests.
