  • Wagerstreet Software

I'm just trying out Wagerstreet online for the first time. This may be the quickest online sportsbook in the business! I'll post more once I have some experience playing there.

    Wagerstreet software kicks ass...

I love Wagerstreet's software and know a number of other folks who's opinion I respect that feel the same. Just painfully fast....

Do they market their software to others? If not they should, the industry could use a good package right now. Everyone complains about IQ-L and they are too busy with "image" these days, and pricing is getting out of control. An affordable package that is solid on the front and back end and with security would easily dominate the market.

Delmar was using it, as was Cascade. Cacade dropped it recently I believe.

Not sure who else uses it, but yes, they do lease it to others, and it's definetly among the best out there in my opinion, at least from the users/players standpoint.

Since the users/players are the ones who bring in the moola, I'd think that would be the most important consideration when choosing software. The BM's should be able to get used to any back end if it makes ends meet.

Camelot, Camelot I know it gives a person pause....

Didn't Camelot use the same software? And here's a question for the peanut gallery...which book has the least user friendly software package?

Camelot used Wagerstreet Software. It's among the best out there. The worst are the Download ones, but as far as browser based, the worst are the ones that use JAVA, like Bowman's, ABC Islands, etc. Millennium and Gibralter quickly dumped that garbage IQ Ludorem software, but Bowmans stupidly (IMO) holds on to it, and ABC Islands switched over to the crap they use now after the Jazz takeover, from what was previously excellent software. Hopefully GCS won't be forced to do the same.

i hate that downlaodable software. like jazz has. times out. i think it's just a cheap way out for the book. so they can say they are online. it's certainly not player friendly.

Well, the fascination with the quick website quickly wore off when my limit for all plays was reduced to $300. On the second day of play, that is better than the record at BET365USA, but give me a break. More, of course, subject to approval, but we'll have to see how that works . . .

The setup for approval at places like WSEX is fine, where I believe they are simply making sure that only one player hits them for the limit on a line that is moving. But we'll have to see if this is the same animal . . .

I think the wagerstreet is the best siftware. Its fast and it never logs me out. Other books like rio, skybook, PCI, new cascade software, pinnacle,...log you out after 5 minutes.

cascade should have kept the old software

The best thing about Camelot's software was that it kept you logged in all the time. If nobody else has access to my PC it's a pain in the ass to have to log in each frigging time to place a bet with most books out there.

That is a pain in the ass....I mean, seriously, its not like anyone heads down to the local Kinko's copy shop or an Internet cafe to place sports bets. It would be pretty easy to set up a "keep me logged in" or "log me out" option that could be adjusted to personal preference. If someone breaks into my house I've got bigger problems than worrying that they'll place bets from my account. For that matter, *they* would have bigger problems since they'd be greeted by my rottweilers who take great pride in maintaining security in my household ; )

A couple of sportsbooks have responded to players' criticism of having to log in over and over, making positive changes in their software. These are worth mentioning:

Canbet - you can now simply hit "Refresh Odds" even a day after your last activity with them, and updated odds appear (and you are logged in).

Casablanca - even though you may get timed out by the system, there is a little text box near the top of the odds screen that says "Time out? - click here" and it will automatically log you in again without typing codes and such.

Let's hope that others take note of the positive.

I agree with the Casablanca comment. That's a great feature. Just click a link and you're back in.

But on the subject of time outs, let's face it, most of the books WANT you to have to log back in.

They don't want you sitting there all day waiting to pop them on a move.

That makes it unfair for those that are just playing their own stuff, but such is life.............
