BetWWTS.com ANNOUNCES ODDS ON FIRST NFL COACH TO BE FIRED OR RESIGN IN 2002
LeBeau, Campo, McGinnis, Coughlin And Mornhiweg Head List Of Potential Coaching Casualties

St. Johns, Antigua (August 27, 2002)—As the beginning of another NFL season approaches, many are already wondering when the coaching carousel in professional football will begin to turn. Realizing that professional coaches are often ‘the fall guy’ when a team underachieves, BetWWTS.com today announced odds on which NFL head coach will be the first to be fired or resign from his position during the 2002 campaign.

A leading offshore gaming company for over 10 years, BetWWTS.com has calculated odds on the most likely candidates to be looking for a new coaching position after this season. Dick LeBeau, head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals, has been installed as the favorite to be the first coach to make an early exit at 2/1 odds. Other head coaches that don’t appear to have a strong hold on their jobs include, Dave Campo, Dallas Cowboys (3/2), Dave McGinnis, Arizona Cardinals (3/1), Tom Coughlin, Jacksonville Jaguars (3/1) and Marty Mornhiweg, Detroit Lions (3/1).

“Although the majority of NFL coaches have recently been named to their post or appear to have management’s support, job security is not something associated with coaching,” said Buck Churchill, Chief Bet Manager of BetWWTS.com. “Dick LeBeau signed a multi-year deal with the Bengals in 2000, but the length of the contract was never disclosed. If the Bengals falter early, don’t be surprised if LeBeau gets his walking papers. The HBO series Hard Knocks makes it look like Dave Campo has the full backing of Jerry Jones, but another season without a playoff appearance could force Jones and his ego to make a coaching change.”

BetWWTS.com has also listed individual odds for some coaches that have experienced recent success or have signed new contracts lately. These surprising candidates include Jim Haslet, New Orleans Saints (9/2), Jim Fassel, New York Giants (9/2), Dan Reeves, Atlanta Falcons (5/1), Mike Holmgren, Seattle Seahawks (6/1) and Jeff Fisher, Tennessee Titans (6/1).

“Although they have recently brought their teams to the Super Bowl, Fassel and Fisher are coming off of disappointing seasons and another sub-par season could be their downfall,” said Mr. Churchill. “Dan Reeves and Mike Holmgren both have front office positions in addition to their coaching jobs, but neither have brought their teams into the playoffs in the past two seasons. Haslet signed a large contract extension in the off-season, but if the Saints play the season as they finished last, Haslet will be the first to feel ownership’s wrath.”

BetWWTS.com will offer odds on the first NFL coach to be fired/resign until 8 pm EST on September 5th, just before the start of the 2002 NFL season opening game. All current odds are subject to change. For more information, visit www.BetWWTS.com .
