  • Jay Cohen Update/Send Jay a Text Message

For those of you who may be wondering, Jay is holding up well in prison so far. He has had a variety of jobs, including assembling furniture in a top secret area of Nellis AFB, and working the breakfast KP. Prison is generally boring and bureaucratic, but he seems to be making the time go quickly. Fortunately, Jay has plenty of time to read and is able to keep up with the outside world from what people send him.

You can send Jay a text message through the www.freejaycohen.com web site. Just type the message in, and it will automatically get printed out and sent to Jay. You can also write him directly yourself at the address listed on the web site. I am sure he would appreciate any messages about just any topic.

he could be writing a book about his experience with the us government and the start of the industry. that would take up a lot of his time.

Why are we supposed to care how he is doing in prison? That's what prison is for--he's lucky it is just boring. From the way it's being portrayed it's more like being at a slow paced summer camp than prison.

Mike you said, That's what prison is for. For what? Offshore book making. I think most people on the site feel bad for Jay. Most of us don't think he should be in prison. If all the offshore bookmakers were in prision, it would make it very difficult for many of us to shop for good numbers when we wager.

People should be in prison for real crimes. The prisons are overcrowded as it is, with rapists and murders getting early releases to make room for others while we send bookmakers to jail??

A simple fine or huge donation to charity would seem more reasonable............

didn't cohen have a chance to cop a plea and pay a fine and avoid jail when he was busted? but nooooooooooooooooooo...his greed got the better of him and he rolled the dice and lost

remember that speech he gave at a gaming convention in '96 where he said: i don't know how much money there is to be made but it starts with the letter 'b' (as in billions)

he wasn't satisfied with simply being a millionaire stock broker, he had to make billions...

            greed did him in

money is not the root of all evil, the correct quote is love of money is the root of all evil...love of money is greed

and that's what cohen is--a greedy motherf-cker..he made his bed let him lie in it

Checkers he stood up for what he believed. That is hardly greed.

On a different note what's going on with advertising on this site? Everytime I log on there are fewer and fewer advertisers and a lot of them like Sports Hustler, Capper's Mall and BoDog aren't even sportsbooks.

Since when are BoDog and SportsHustler not sportsbooks? BoDog is one of the big movers and shakers out there these days. Sports Hustler offers the same stuff MVPBets does.

You guys are taking shots at the one guy who helped make this industry what it is today AND had the courage to stand up for what he believed in.

You should be ashamed of yourselves hiding in behind your aliases and bashing and making fun of the the only guy that had balls to stand up for this industry.
May all your bets be winners

                      We have to get political.

One of this board's leaders should form a voting group where they would endorse a slate and we as members would pledge and vote accordingly.

"GVB" or gamblers voting block , or any similiar name would be appropriate. Once we are members we must vote(I would) any slate endorsed regardless of your political view.

Teachers, lawyers, naacp, nra, teamsters, aarp all endorse a slate and they all are heard by the politicos. And a host of others alphabet orgs.

Beside online forum members there should be a lot of slot, bingo, horse & casino players that would be sympathetic to this freedom cause.

I have no interest to organize this or be in charge. I just want to be a member of a group that has the gamblers agenda platform. Maybe JC could appoint an organizor-leader. Just let me sign-up and support ($) the "GVB". More importantly I would vote for whomever is endorsed...

a group like that is a good idea, but a lot of people involved with gambling do not want to give out their names because they are afraid they will be put on a list.

jay cohen did have the guts to stand up for his industry but he did it more in a way to only promote himself and his company, he doesnt speak out for the whole industry. he one time bashed books for offering bonuses and said they wuld all be out of business.
