  • NASA (www.betus) not paying until Jan. 2, 2003?

I was just informed that NASA (www.betus.com) will not be able to process ANY payouts until Jan. 2, 2003 because "The banks in Costa Rica are closed until then".

    This is highly disturbing --
Has anyone else out there heard a message like this? Has anyone else out there who has an account with NASA heard this excuse?

A sportsook inability to pay is the most disturbing thing that can happen to a sportsbook. I'm hoping that I was just given some incorrect information by the workers there.

This is true that the banks are closed for like two weeks in Costa Rica, but most of the books down there don't actually BANK there--they're not supposed to. I can't speak for the other offshore banking locales, but I'd think NETeller and the other electronic payment processors should be able to process just fine.

I think there might be some books not processing payouts because of the holiday, possibly because they are short staffed but saying they can't because of the banks being closed is a flat out lie. As blowfish said, the books aren't suppossed to bank IN Costa Rica.

Anybody have an update on this?

It's funny that books still try this tactic because they have to know that the majority of the public knows that books are in one location (Costa Rica) and if Book A in Costa Rica is processing payouts over the holidays....then Book B should be able to in some fashion at least.

they aren't the only ones taking heat for their holiday hours. mvpbets was taking a lot of criticism for not being able to do payouts for two days because all managers were off. the books now use the excuse that they had been telling people way in advance so they should have made other arrangements.
