Bettorsworld Forums > General Sports Wagering Talk > Bookies Hell Posting Forum > NFL Game of the Week... Week # 6... Post your Pick here

    Post Preview:
Another tough week in the NFL, nothing really jumps off the table in week 6 except one game.

Chicago at New Orleans, New Orleans is a 5.5 chalk at home.

The Bears off a huge (much needed win), and the saints searching for the same.

These two teams will play as if it their last game on earth and 5.5 is just a gift (In my Humble Opinion)

    FACTS "To Consider"

Bears rank 3rd lowest in PPG in the NFC and last in offense, the Saints are 25th....

New Orleans gave up 55 points to Indy in week 4.

I believe that the run game (or lack of defense of NO) will allow Chicago with A train and Stewart to win this game out right.

Also Factor in the FG kicker for the bears in accuracy and they cover.

Frustration is abound for both teams but the heat is hotter in Chicago..

I will lay with the Bears

    Good Luck to all

    I dunno Carpet

Carpet- The Bears do seem like an OK pick, but they scare me because of how high-schoolish they have looked at times. They have been totally dominated by the likes of Green Bay and San Francisco, not exactly the NFL's elite. New Orleans on the other hand, while not world-beaters, has lost to teams with a combined record of 15-3. That is staggering. Are they losing? Yes. But to the NFL's best teams. The only patsy (Bear-like) team they've played (Houston) they dominated in a 21 point home win. If I had to bet on this game, -5.5 for NO seems like more than a fair #, and I'd probably be leaning in that direction.

As far as my standout spread of the week, it's Arizona +6 at home vs. Baltimore. Baltimore is 2-2 and not nearly as good as their record. Their wins have come against NFL juggarnauts San Diego and Cleveland. And they got absolutely decimated in the opener by a Pittsburgh team has now lost 3 straight games by 17+ points. Coming close against KC in a 7 point home loss only gives them false confidence that they are a playoff contender. Coming off a bye is usually a positive, but when you're sent cross country to play a game in a with no real crowd against team that is almost impossible to get "up" for, and you're not nearly as good as you think you are, it's big trouble. Their defense is vastly overrated and on offense they are starting a rookie quarterback. At 2-2, I would be SHOCKED if they were to win more than 6 games. I'm thinking more like 4-5.
Arizona is coming off a pair of double digit road losses, and last week's 24-7 score was not indicative of how well they played in the 2nd half. They are returning home where in their last game they beat Green Bay. This seems like the gimme game of the month right here. I will be surprised if Arizona does not win straight up, and something crazy would have to happen for them not to cover the +6. Thoughts???

Disagree- I see NO as dominating this game. New Orleans is off track this year, but their offense used to be potent. Nothing has changed except that they are in a slump. Now going against the Bears that have a horrible defense.

      Main considerations:

1). NO is at home against a very weak Offense.
2). Horn and Mcallister will have season high games, and the Bears Offense cannot keep up with them since the NO D is much better than the Bears D.

Good luck whichever way you go, but I'd say NO -5.5 is a four star pick in my book.

And I'll even go out on a limb and say MIA -3.5 is as close to a lock as we'll see this week.

If Miami wins, I'll be 6-0 for the game of the week contest!

A loss is a loss, and the Carpet is not going to whine about the worst called game I have seen in a long time, adding 1 second to the clock at the end of the half was a ball buster.

The real problem here is Kordell Stewart, this guy is terrible, throwing the ball directly at the defense without even looking. If Jaron dont bench him for week 7 he is gone as a coach. Chandler at least can read a defense.

The Carpet will be back on the floor in week 7..

        Good Luck to all..
