MLB Playoff Thread..Post your plays/insight here

Thought I'd start one thread for all my playoff baseball plays. Will post anything I play in here and please feel free to add your top plays of the day too. I have had prettty good success in recent years in the playoffs/World Series. Good Luck and lets make some cash.

Tuesday Playoffs:

One so far:

St.Louis/SD UNDER 7.5 (-115)...Peavey/Carpenter. Always value on the under when these two pitch. Think there will be some rusty hitters coming into this one and also see Carpenter dominating like early in the year too. And Peavey can pitch with the best of them too. See a 3-2 type of game to kick off the playoffs at 1:00 EST on Tuesday. Looks like its going to be a long lunch tommorrow for me.

Another Tuesday Play:

White Sox -107 over Boston...Basically going against Clement in this spot.

1-1 to start the post-season. Peavey's broken rib and Reggie's 6 RBI due in the under pretty quickly! White Sox Roll.

Wednesday:

Atlanta/Houston UNDER 7.5...Petitte and Hudson must go. Trying the under again in a game #1.

Boston Red Sox -103...Wells/Buehrle...Red sox back against the wall. Hate going against a good pitcher at home but see this one going into the later innings and the bullpens settling it.

Angels -120 over NYY....going against the yanks pitcher in his 1st playoff start and rolling with a hot Lackey at home.

I like the OVER9 -125 red/white

Boston has to hit better after being embarrased yesterday and white sox are just too hot not to hit . I see both pitchers giving up atleast 4 runs and the bullpens are good for atleast 2 themselves.

Tuesday Oct.11:

White Sox vs. Angels

Taking the white sox -1.5 (-110). Hate playing the Angels are tired card and probably some value with the Angels here but still have to factor in all this stress and traveling over the past few days. I think Angels get beat relax a bit and come back and take game 2. El Duque is too hot and rested. See a 4-1 Sox win. Almost bit on the under 8.5 too but just sticking with a side. And don;t want to lay the -200 either on the Sox ML.

about 50% for the post season but being more selective in my plays now.

Got beat on that one. That was a major public play I bet the book cashed pretty well with that one. Angels were playing on pure adrenaline and think the sox were sluggish.

Wednesday:

Laying the wood!

White Sox -180 over Anahiem...Buehrle must go for sox. Must win game. Hate laying this much but its worth it tonight.

Passing on the cards game. MAy play the over 7.5 for small but too much homer interest in that game to actually cap it right. Go Cards!!

I Like the astros +1.5 for -150: I think this will be a close game.

Thursday:

Houston Astros +138 over St.Louis...Going against my team in this spot. Oswalt has been on top of his game of late and Mulder is a liitle banged up after taking one off the arm in his last start. Astros bats awoke late last night and I see the cards having trouble getting anything going against Oswalt and then they have to contend with Lidge out of the bullpen. Lidge made a lto of the crads hitters look foolish last year in the playoffs and if he is in there, it is good night for the cards tonight...As much as i hate to say it.

Good Luck...Leaning towards the UNDER 7.5 too.

Hate that the cards lost but I did nail my pick pretty accurately.

Friday:

small play on:

White Sox +150...Just going with the underdog here as this one is going to be neck and neck thru the whole series.

Sunday:

Back against the wall play:

Cardnals -131 over Houston...fresh Suppan shuts down stros today!

Angels +1.5 (-140) over CWS

Got swept yetserday and it hurts. Thought both were solid plays.

Monday:

Kind of a homer call on the Cards -135 over Houston. Just see the cards getting the win tonight and going back home for at least one more at Busch. I think Carpenter will be sharp as ever and hold the Stros to 0 or 1 run. And the powerful offense of the cards at least getting 3. Maybe a play on the under too. Take it for whats its worth but again a homer play for me. I can see Edmonds and Pujouls taking the team on their shoulders to be around for another game.

I hate that a whole season is hanging on one loss. Its a long year and for the Cards to dominate all year and then fall flat pisses me off. Shitty umps or not, the cards didn't help themselves by squandering many opportunities on Sunday.

Baseball Playoffs

What a game Monday night!!! Now that's what the post season is all about. Woodee, you hit the nail on the head when you said that Pujols would put the team on his shoulders and carry them. I know exactly how you are feeling because even though I'm NOT an Angel fan, it was disappointing to see them play so good against the Yankees, and then fall flat againt the White Sox.
I guess it serves all of those fake Angel fans right, (half of them were wearing Dodger shirts until mid-September), and goes to show that you must stay true to your team no matter what the predicament may be, (I'm living proof......look at my Raiders miserable showing so far). The Raiders will never be anything again until they get rid of perennial losing coach Norv Turner.
Anyway, good luck to the Cards, were pulling for them out here on the West Coast......GLTA, BOONE.

Wednesday:

Cards got the series extended but now we sit at game 6 against Nasty Oswalt. You know who I am rooting for but its hard not to take the nice doggie price with Houston. Don;t know if I will lay anything on it myself but I think Astros +137 is the right play here.

I beg to differ......Can't see the 'Stros comin' back after the big emotional letdown on Monday night....I mean, these guys already had the wire twisted off the champagne corks.....George Bush Sr. was already considering throwin' his ten-gallon hat into the presidential race in 2008!.......We've seen things happen in these playoffs this year that teams just couldn't rebound from......If anything, I could see the Cards winning tonight with the always-tough-at-home Mulder, and then maybe falling tomorrow with Morris......but not likely......Besides, these "Oswalts" usually fire their best shots in Texas (you remember Lee Harvey).....Just kidding, no bad mail please....Keep the faith.... GLTA.
