Sacramento -7.5
The Kings have a record of only 2-5 so far, which is their worst start since 1997 - one year before current coach Rick Adelman took over the club. In last game they managed to lose to the winless New York Knicks in homegame at ARCO Arena. The Kings let the Knicks to score 105 points in that game and managed to score only 95 themselves. Its true that defense isn´t the Kings strength, but recently they seem to have lost some offensive power as well. Nevertheless you can´t make a long-term conclusions just yet. The Kings have had their reasons for those losses. 4 of their 7 games have been in away, they have had quite strong opponents and although with strong lineup, they haven`t clicked yet. But as they have 2nd home game in a row, expect them to bounce back strong tonight to get their momentum going.
The Utah Jazz (4-4) has serious injury problems, with Carlos Boozer missing all the games so far and Andrei Kirilenko spraining his ankle in a game against the Bulls few days ago. But that’s not all - Keith McLeod sat out yesterday`s game against the Knicks with back spasms and Gordan Giricek also didn’t play. Also Utah`s forward Matt Harping is questionable for tonights game. He played yesterday, but due to offseason knee surgery, his doctor still does not want him to play two nights in a row. Considering short choice the Jazz has he will probably play, but could see limited minutes.
The Jazz had only 11 players available Monday. Missing important pieces from the puzzle showed clearly for the Jazz when the Knicks jumped on them in the second half and took their 2nd win relatively easy. The Jazz used their roleplayers, who are not accustomed with such a high minutes they see now because of teams injury woes. They will have to carry the load second night in a row going against the running and fast playing Kings. Expect fatique to take its toll, especially in the second half. With 22-75 shooting last night (and not only because of the Knicks defence), big injury issues and away game ahead of them, it sure looks bad for the Jazz.
The Kings are fustrated, angry and ready to bounce back from humiliating loss against the Knicks. They were booed by some fans 2 days ago so be sure they will try to strike back right away. If they ever plan to be a contender, the injured Jazz is a golden opportunity for the Kings to regain their confidence. Expect them to run over tired, injured and out of sync team of Utah and win with double digital margin. High stakes 9/10 on spread –7.5 points for the Kings.
