Well I went 3-2-1 yesterday winning with Detroit, Denver and Seattle. Actually I went 4-2-1 but forgot to write up Pittsburgh which is the only game I felt good enough to bet straight. I lost with Carolina and St Louis and pushed with Tampa Bay. The Carolina game was a prime example of what I was trying to say in my opening spiel. There are things you just can't handicap that can screw you. Steve Smith gets a 15 yard penalty and an ejection in the 3rd quarter and a bullshit roughing the kicker penalty gives Dallas a touchdown late in the game. Oh well. Both my losers had double digit leads at one time. I really think Carolina was guilty of letting up a bit in the first quarter. They were kicking Dallas' butts all over the field and had a 10-0 lead in the first quarter and I really think they thought it was going to be a cakewalk. That's all it took for Dallas to get back in it.

    Today I like the following.

Chicago -7 I'm buying the 1/2 pt to be safe. When you give 7.5 you most often have to win by 9 or 10 as 8 doesn't occur all that often. Chicago needs this win to clinch the division and they have the chance for some payback for all the years of dominance by the Pack. Rex Grossman is back at QB and I can't see much motivation for Green Bay. Chicago will be fired up (and someone on Green Bay is liable to get hurt!) If Chicago loses and Minnesota wins, the division will be decided next week at Minnesota and I don't think Chicago wants to take that chance at all. Something else in our favor.....Green Bay is -20 in turnovers TY. Favre just doesn't take care of the football.

Minnesota +4 Again buying the 1/2 pt. At first I was contemplating Baltimore at -3 but on second thought I'm not so sure. Kyle Boller sucks! So he had one good game against Green Bay. Minnesota needs to win badly. If they win and Chicago loses they still have a shot at the division by beating Chicago next week in the friendly confines of the Metrodome. Minnesota is 3rd in the entire NFL with 33 takeaways and second with23 INT's. They'll probably get a couple more today. Except for last week vs Pittsburgh, Brad Johnson has been good. Getting 4 pts today against Baltimore seems like a pretty good deal for a team that could easily win outright.

    Merry Christmas!

Though I am not one to endorse the buying of points very much, I will on occasion buy off a key number. You certainly save some cheese on the bears game. Good move to get the push.
