Pettitte pushed back due to ankle injuryAssociated Press
Major League Baseball News Wire
ST. LOUIS -- Houston Astros pitcher Andy Pettitte was pushed back a day from his scheduled start on Monday night to allow a left ankle injury more time to heal.
Taylor Buchholz was to start the opener of a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals, with Pettitte reset for Tuesday. Pettitte, 13-13 with a 4.34 ERA, apparently was injured shagging fly balls on Saturday in Milwaukee.
Buchholz, a 24-year-old rookie, was making his first major league appearance since being optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on July 31.good luck
