  • Question?

Okay so I have a question about your bankroll. Im curious when you refer to units what does this mean. I kind of have an idea but want to be for sure. I was reading where you take your overall bankroll and break it down into 40 units. Is this true. Then how do you determine how much you will wager. From my perspective i just take say fifty dollars and place the wager. I can see where this could get me in trouble. I guess my overall question is what is the best way to manage your bankroll.

For a recreational sportsbettor, your $50 wager would be appropriate for someone with a $1000 bankroll.

A good general rule of thumb for sportsbetting is to wager 5% of your bankroll per play.

For a beginner, they might want to drop that down a notch to 3% or so to start.

Your "unit" would be 5% of your bankroll.

Your unit size would increase or decrease depending on if you won or lost.
