  • MONDAY NIGHT HYPE -- LET'S HEAR IT !!

Don't have TOO much of an opinion on the spread here since the hype leading up to this game has obviously caused the line to sway, but I DO love the UNDER.....Hell, I'm not even sure what the line is, but I do know that with all of the nerves and emotion heading into this one, that these two teams will take awhile to sort things out......Might even be a scoreless 1st quarter......Going UNDER on this one boys......Let's hear some rebuttal.....Good Luck to all.

Like the under too if I were to play it.

Have ATL +3 in the 2nd half of a tease for very small.

Played UNDER 21.5 in the 1st Half for a small play. Really don't like betting on MNF, think its always a toss-up and tight line, but usually put a few bucks on it for entertianment purposes.

I actually like NO in this game. Vick still has not proven to me he shows up every Sunday. Truthfully i just dont like my money being on vick so just to make things interesting i picked NO. Good luck to everyone

I'm not much on hype and nobody asked me, but personally I like the Over.

When you took a look at the schedule before the year started, the big attraction to this game was the fact that the Saints would be returning to the Superdome for the first time since Katrina. But look what we have here! A game between two teams that are 2-0 and tied for first in the NFC South.

The whole world is on the Falcons tonight. Sharps, squares, everyone. All the players at the top of the standings in the Hilton contest are also on the Falcons tonight. But hey, they were all on the Panthers Sunday as well, and look what happened there.

We were looking at the Saints in this one before the season even started. Emotional edges in sports are very real. More so in the College ranks than in the pros. But every once in a while one pops up in the NFL. There's already a built in edge to be considered for Monday Night home dogs. It's been a winning proposition since Monday Night Football started. Add in the whole Katrina deal and there is a definite emotional edge here for the Saints.

Of course as we say over and over, emotional edges mean little if the team that possesses them has no talent and can't capitalize. But again, this is a 2-0 Saints team tied with these same Falcons for first in their division, so this game has huge implications in the big scheme of things.

At this point, the Saints two wins ON THE ROAD against the Browns and Packers is looking a little stronger than the Falcons wins over the Panthers and Bucs. We really feel the Saints are finally headed in the right direction and Drew Brees at QB and Reggie Bush in the backfield are big pieces to that puzzle.

If the Saints can establish the run tonight and keep Vick off the field, this is a very winnable game. This game opened up at -3 and we thought for sure it would stay there and perhaps drift down to where we had to lay high juice to get the +3. Instead, it went the other way where there is solid 4's across the board. There's only one way for us to look here. We're going with a confident Saints team on the rise, at home as a dog on Monday Night in the most emotional game they will play all season long.

Here are a few trends for tonight -

The Saints have only been penalized 8 times this year

The Saints have never started 3-0

Vick is 5-0 straight up against the Saints

The Saints have lost 5 straight on Monday Night

The Saints are 3-1 against the spread vs the Falcons over three years

The Falcons are 19-9 against the spread vs the Saints over the last 14 years

The average score in Saints Falcons games over the last 14 years is Atlanta 23 Saints 21

            Our Pick - 3* SAINTS +4

I like the under as well. Atlanta's defense is pretty sound and the saints aren't playing bad defense either. The extra emotion will probably help the saints defense play even better.

I don't know where you can say Saints are playing good defense,

They gave up 27 points to Green Bay...the same place Chicago game them zip. If Packers had any D, they wouldn't have blown a big lead to N.O.

and 14 to the Browns who can't score anyway.

Saints Emotions may keep them in the game the first half, but they will burn out and Atlanta will start gaining more yardage each play and then pull away for the win.

Atlanta Has given up a total of 9 points and NO touchdowns.

this may go Under by less than a TD, but It won't because of New Orleans D.

Michael Vick wins by Double Digits.
                good luck

Learn to read. there is a difference between not bad and good ie mediocre. The saints D will play with plenty of emotion early likely keeping atlanta in check. I agree atl will pull away in the second half but don't think with what little the saints score will be enough to put it over.

I think Atlanta's 'D' is getting too much credit. I believe they just happened to catch the Panthers and the Bucs at the right time......like when their offenses were in a pathetic state. It's only been 2 games. And it's not like they're blowing teams away.....they've only scored 20 and 14 themselves! On the other hand, it is hard to ignore Atlanta's ATS record at the Superdome. I read somewhere that they are 19-1 ATS the last 20! ...and I think that's what's got the sharps on this game. Not sure about the public though. New Orleans has a very good offensive core with Brees, McAllister, Bush and Horn and I think it could be very close to the average score Jeff posted of 23-21 or so. I also like the Saints +4 despite the incredible ATS record of Atlanta's. Pretty stupid huh?

Besides the emotional factors that point to the saints. I belive we get to witness the reggie bush coming out party tonite ...Agressive Atl DL will get burnt by bush screens and Duece yall remeber him .He is healthy now and can pound the 3 short.Atlanta isn`t putting the ball in the endzone the saint have been.......NO converting 46% on 3 downs .........saints win SU

I took the Saints and the Under in separate bets.

When I took the under, it was at 44. I don't know what it's at now, though. A strout defense with the Falcons, a run-first team in Atlanta as well...I think that no one scores more than 21.

I took the Saints in a more iffy move...I think the Saints win it straight up, so I felt there was value getting the points. Does anyone really believe that the Saints are going to lose in the first game back in the Dome? With all the significance put around the game? Never.

Black Cat took the Saints (I'm a superstar -- you can tell because I refer to myself in 3rd person :-) ) . I think Atlanta defense is tough and this would probably be a bad pick later in the season, and maybe even in a couple weeks when the players wear down a bit more, but I believe New Orleans offense can get the job done and expect the Saints to key on the run, forcing Vick to beat them with his arm.

I'm not playing tonight, but I'd have a hard time taking the Saints with their wins, vs. the Falcons with their wins
