  • Dragon1952 - CFB Thursday

Won with Tulsa on Tuesday night so that brings my CFB record to date:
    Sides 31-23-3
    Totals 5-4

Florida St/N.C. State UN 40 - Neither one of these offenses has really clicked much so far. There are some things that stand out this year that support the under, as well as some nice trends. If you throw out the Rice game for the Seminoles and Div AA Appalachian St for the Wolfpack you'll see some pretty pathetic offensive numbers, especially in the first 3 quarters. If you total the pts scored in the first 3 quarters of the 3 games for each team under scrutiny, the Wolfpack have only scored 23 pts and the Seminoles have only scored 25 pts. That's an average of about 2.5 pts per quarter! They both have done a lot better in the 4th quarter with 32 pts for the Seminoles and 28 pts for the Wolfpack for an average of around 10 pts each. In those same 3 games, N.C. State is averaging about 300 yds per game and Florida St. well under 300 yds. In fact, Florida St. was held to just 175 total yds vs Miami and only 204 vs Clemson! The defenses are definitely the strong points of these 2 teams, with the edge going to Florida St. N.C. St, in particular, will have a hard time scoring I'm afraid. As for the trends,
-Under is 20-6 in FSU last 26 road games
-Under is 37-14 in FSU last 51 night games
-Under is 14-3 in NCST last 17 games overall
-Under is 13-3 in NCST last 16 games on Grass

Of course you can't really predict how many turnovers leading to easy scores, or punt and kick-off returns for big yardage might affect the score but I'll take a shot at the under here.

I like the under as well. I'm not at all impressed with the FSU offense, but the defense certainly does a great job.

That 40 number is like an NFL total.

    I just couldn't take/give the 10.5 for either team.

Yeah, I don't like either side in that one either..

      BUT.......I do like this one.
      Adding:

TCU +3 @ Utah - Utah has beaten 3 pathetic teams by a large margin. Northern Arizona, Utah St and San Diego St. They lost by a large margin to the only 2 decent teams they've faced....UCLA and Boise St. TCU has at least beaten a top 25 team in Texas Tech. In fact they held that high-powered offense to 3 pts. TCU is the better team here in my opinion and I'll take a shot that they can rebound here and at least keep this very close if not win outright.
