It's kinda wierd that in my post above, I "saw" the A's getting swept, and Trachsel giving up 5 runs, and the Cards winning......but honestly speaking, I didn't make any profit......How about that, a prophet without a profit !!!!..........Anyway, the NFL has been kind for most of the early part, so we'll toss a few zops at 'em for tonight's game.....here goes:

I can't ever remember seeing a team in the playoffs, down 2 games to 1, starting a pitcher that's 3-13 on the year with an ERA better than 6 runs!!!!!......But that's just what the Mets are forced to do since their already shitty pitching staff is down to nothing......I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers, but did you see this guy's media photo?.....It looks like it came straight off of the post office wall!!!!........That has nothing to do with why the Mets will lose again tonight, it's just when he falls apart, Willie Randolph might as well reach into the stands and bring in the guy selling peanuts......(it's that bad folks)........Whatever, no prediction on the TOTAL tonight, just saying that the CARDS win again tonight, and put the shellshocked Mets out of their misery for good tomorrow with Jeff (The Dream) Weaver going for the homeboys......Cleaning up on this one boys !!!!!!

Actaully played the Mets tonight for small and they rocked the cards. Hopefully the bats won;t stay that hot for game 5. I am now scared ad they have to go back to NY now and momentum has shifted. Shitty pitcher series and think the OVER has to be worth a look from here on out. Weaver on Monday and do't know if he can handle it the 2nd time around but as you read, I 'm not a Weaver guy but hes proved me wrong.

Not betting a side but may go OVER,

Thanks boone for your cont inued insight and if Spup can get WS tix in STL if it happens, let me know!!!

Have to say that I like the Mets tomorrow with Glavine starting. Im not sure how Weaver is on short rest. With Glavine starting i think the mets believe that this is a must win game do to the fact that they have no clue of what to expect from the the rest of the starting staff.I believe that Glavine will dig deep tomorrow due to the rumor that Pujols ripped him to the media.(Didnt hear what he had to say, just read a short article) I think that Weaver pitches four innings tomorrow. The o/u is set at 9.5. Dont really know how to play this I think that woodys right with the over. It seems to me that Pujols is tapped out. It looks like he has carried the load to long. The Cards look like there not having fun I think the Mets and the over are the best play for tomorrow. Is it me or do the Cards look tired. Just my thoughts.

Hey Woodee, kudos to you for sticking to your guns and not letting the emotion get in the way by going with the Mets on Sunday.....nice win......As for the World Series tickets, I can't sit here and stroke you by saying that I have a chance to get any........It was a longshot chance that the Dodgers would advance to the LCS, and since "Soup" is from the San Fernando Valley (suberb of Los Angeles), He had told his cousin Jon (my daughters boyfriend) that he would hook us up with tickets to at least 1 game........So much for that.

As for last night (Sunday's game), I'm not gonna make any excuses because even though I think I got "La Russa-ed" (he could have left Reyes in there for at least one more inning), I don't think it was ever "in the cards" (no pun intended) for St. Louis to win that game......which brings us to Monday.

I've gotta disagree with "Jpehl" when he says that Weaver will probably be asked to go 4 innings and sit........If La Russa resorts to that strategy again like last night where he saw his ineffective middle "relief" get bombarded, then he might as well mail in the next game.........Weaver's doing his best pitching in quite some time, and although he's going on 3 days rest, one's gotta think that he'll be carried a little further on sheer adrenaline, determination, and the "10th Man" factor---home-field advantage........Whatever team wins this game will likely go on to win the NL pennant......Weaver knows this, the Cardinals know this, La Russa knows this, and so do the fans......Add it all up, and the pressure is really on the New Yorkers and Tom Glavine, who just so happens to be throwing his first playoff game away from home.......Sometimes the visitor's bump can be a little "foreign" to a pitcher accustomed to his own.....Call me stubborn but I'm sticking with the Redbirds to win one from the heart.

Note: I mentioned above that whomever wins tonight will probably move on to the World Series........Not necessarily so.....the Cards could actually lose tonight and still have a good chance to advance, having Carpenter and Suppan in the holster for the last couple of games is a decided advantage over what the Mets have to deal with.....Good Luck all !!!!

I might have been misleading but what i meant to say was that Weaver will only last untill the fourth, because he gets rocked. Boone this is the biggest game I think for the Mets. The pressures on them not the cards. Im going to say tonight I like The Mets and Under. I know i changed but its going under. Man theres nothing better then postseason baseball. Enjoy the game tonight.

Did a little research and found out that Glavine was not very good on short rest. I guess the rain out definately favors the mets. Havent really found anything on weaver with short rest.

I think this is going to be the best game of the series. Its hard to say that it want go over but truthfully i like the under tonight. Dont have a reason but see this game as one of the series lower scoring games. Im thinking 3 to 5 Mets. Weaver is going to pitch around 5 2/3 innings. I think with the rest that Glavine comes out and shuts them out for about 4 innings. I dont see pujols contributing much this game may be good for one hit. The Mets backs are against the wall and I believe they know it. There going to come out swinging. Weaver has over achieved I think so far in the playoffs. Who knows. Its going to be a good game. Enjoy the evening.

We won it 2001 hope you guys win it this year.. Stuck to my guns and it paid off......Not here to gloat, but I thought about posting some more shit as to why I loved the Cards in this one, but I didn't want to curse myself----kind of like going back to the betting window to put MORE money on a horse you've already bet.....call me superstitious--but aren't we all?

Can't say enough about my boy Jeff "Dream" Weaver.....handled adversity in facing Beltran and Delgado with the pressure on (has it ever been off in this series?).....and pitched another beauty at plus-odds......Gotta love it.

                        Aside to Woodee 12:

Man, there's a lotta nice wool in them there seats at Busch Stadium....Are you handlin' any of that stuff pal?.......Back at you tomorrrow.......Good Luck guys.

It's Wednesday and Game 6 is upon us.....Gonna have to sit this one out since I don't really care for the way the line moved in the opposite direction that I thought it would.......Besides, the crowd at Shea will be relentless tonight and the pressure will ride heavy on the shoulders of Cris Carpenter.....Not to say he can't handle it, but if the Cards win it tonight, I salute them.....it's been a very good and profitable series......If not, we'll get 'em tomorrow with Suppan, who along with Jeff Weaver, just happen to be the two hottest pitchers still active this year.....For kicks tonight, I'm going with a two-team parlay of :

                          CFB
                          Lafayette -8.5

                          NHL
                          New Jersey Devils -140

                          Gotta have something going !!
                          ;)

Been busy but will be back later with my thoughts on the game and the nice 'Wool" at Busch.

Havn't played it yet but will probably be on the mets. Think Carps tank is about empty and the adrenaline will only go so far. Think we will see a game 7, honestly.

                            Back in a while.

This series is really starting to bore me. I hope the cards clinch tonight. Mets what do you say it looked like they didnt try last night. I was wrong on Weaver man he has really showed up this year in the Playoffs. Its a contract year. He wants to get paid. Maybe he is really coming around. Not to excitted about watching this game tonight.

Going to pass all together. Like Boone Said, the basically a pick and hard not to take carpenter over Maine at that price and not good enough odds to take the mets.

May look at the over 8 if I do anything.
