BOONE'S BEST FOR NFL SUNDAY 10/29/06
The following opinions are intended for entertainment purposes only are in complete disregard to statistics, percentages, and any other unnecessary information that only cause to mislead, befuddle and plain old confuse the average hadicapper.........If and when you decide to agree with the writer with any monetary backing of these picks, please make sure to pay the rent first......Good Luck.

    Eagles -7 1/2 vs. Jaguars

Eagles seething after that last second loss to Tampa Bay last weekend........Too bad for Jacksonville........As if it wasn't bad enough to come in and deal with the worst fans in the country, but to do it after their own road loss and without their starting QB against a team waiting to tear the lining out of their pants?..........It looks like these cats are in for another long afternoon.

    Bengals -3 1/2 vs. Falcons

Bengals still trying to find themselves or at least any kind of consistency, but this is too good an opportunity to pass up.........Falcons have no run defense, and we should see a heavy dose of Rudi Johnson open up the passing game for Carson Palmer and company.......Michael Vick will spend most of the day running for his life........something he hasn't been very successful at on the road......Bengals to roll this run up.

    Ravens +1 1/2 vs. Saints

Have had a good run of luck going with the Saints so far this year, but get the feeling here that they haven't faced the type of defense they're up against today.........Ravens cause mistakes and that's something the Saints haven't had to deal with lately........Ravens hungry after 2 tough losses, and I think we see what they are really made of today.......Contain Reggie Bush, make Drew Brees force passes, win another with defense........Ravens in a close one.

    Broncos -2 1/2 vs. Colts

It's been snowing pretty good in Denver all week......It's bad enough for visiting teams to have to endure the altitude they are not accustomed to when coming to the Mile High City, but when you're up against the toughest defense in the NFL, it only makes it worse......Champ Bailey is superhuman .........Add to the fact that the Colts haven't been the same Colts (offensively anyway) as they've been in past years, and the fact that Peyton Manning's feet have been "happier" than ever, and we could be in for a lop-sided game here.........If it wasn't for Denver's inept offense, and Jake Plummer's knack for underachieving, I'd be "all in" on this one.......Also won't help the Colts to be playing without perennial All-Pro Mike Doss who got hurt last week and is out for the year.........Broncos make a statement here.

    Cowboys +5 1/2 vs. Panthers

Very simply put, I don't think the Cowboys are as horrific a team as they indicated last week, nor do I think that the Panthers are that good..........At least they sure don't make anything look easy........Granted, the Panthers running game has looked better the last couple of weeks behind the determined running of DeShaun Foster, but Delhomme hasn't exactly looked like the QB from the Superbowl a couple of years back.........Steve Smith has definitely been the biggest factor since his return, but I see this game being more ball-control oriented, as opposed to a big-play type game..........Prepare to watch two running games going at it early, and this game being decided by a field-goal late..........Like Dallas to upset.

Would love to put San Diego as one of my picks, since I believe they will shred St. Louis to bits, but I can't gamble on any team coached by Marty Schottenheimer.........Good Luck to all BW players this weekend..................Boone.

Okay let me explain something before i post. For some reason i firmily believe that we tend to out think our selves at times by looking at to much crap. At least i do. At times its helpful and at times its hurtful. Ive been curious lately if someone who had no knowledge of any football team could make quality picks. So I ask my 6 year old niece to pick 12 teams. I just gave her the teams name and nothing more. Im really being serious about this and in no way are trying to make fun of anyone. It could be good and it could be bad.

          Tenn -3
          Cinc -3 1/2
          TB +9 1/2
          Chic -16
          GB -4
          Seattle + 6 1/2
          Balt + 2 1/2
          Rams + 9 1/2
          Pitts -9
          Broncos -2 1/2
          Cowboys +6
          Jets + 1 1/2
When i placed the bets there was no line on philly at bodog. I just placed the minimum bet.

            Okay for my bets.
Dallas +6 I love Dallas as an underdog on the road. My only concern is a big one Steve Smith, as Dallas at times tends to give up the big play in the air. I think you will see a diffrent Dallas team then Monday night. With Keyshawn going to Carolina this game could get dirty. You never know what team is going to show up for Carlona. I expect Dallas to win SU.
Jets - 1 1/2 I really dont have much to say about this pick. I think the browns are already looking forward to next year.
KC + 6 1/2 Seattle is over rated. QB and RB out. This is going to be a really hard win for the seahawks in KC. I got 6 1/2 2 days ago. I think its a good value
NO -2 Im going to jump on the wagon this week. There doing big things at home so far. Brees is amazing. With Mcnair back i expect a close game but NO to win by a TD.
            Good luck

Good Luck. I think you might be in my head or I'm in yours. I'm on all of them except ravens. After the shit I saw in a couple of their home wins, it looks like they're not losing at home this year. It's a better story that way.

                Boone,

Parcells looked like he wanted to quit right then and there after MNF. He's a lame duck and his players know it. The T.O. circus has disrupted another team. I think Dallas is done for the year. If Parcells gathers enough t opull them together from here, my hat would be off to him, but I think they might roll over.

John Fox will have Julius Peppers and the Panther D all over Romo. Jake and Steve Smith won't have to do much. It's a must game for Carolina too. Panthers have a better D, a better O, big advantage at QB, and yes a better coach. And they are at home in front of a national TV audience. Gotta like the Panthers. Just my opinion. Don't bet the rent on it.

Boone: I'm strong on your first 3 picks.

The Jags defense has been decimated by injuries. THeir offense has not been good all year and will be worse without Leftwich. Philly is coming off 2 losses and should bounce back in a big way.

Atlanta got a big emotional win last week at home. I think they will fall back down to earth going on the road. Cinci's offense is likely to put it all together today. The Atlanta Defense misses Abraham in a big way.

I really believe the Saints are going to look bad against the Ravens. Baltimore has been off for a week. McNair has been under so much fire lately. I think he's going to have his best game.

The other 2 picks I am not as certain about. I am usually inclined to take Indi as an underdog. And Denver's offense has been abysmal.

I am also leaning toward Carolina as I think they are going to confuse Romo in his first start.

Jpehl, I love your idea. I know for a fact I outthink myself, last year I was in a regular pool and I would go like 12-4 each week. I figured I should be able to pick pretty well when I put money on individual games, but my record hasn't been great this year. I truly believe it might be the best bet to just place a wager on every game. Its a lot easier to hit 60 percent this way. At least thats been my experience.

Wide thats kind of where the thoughts originated from. It was actually from a lady who was in our pool who admitted to knowing nothing about football.
6-6 Thats about what i thought. I already have here next picks and im waiting for bodog to post the lines . Im going to try to keep up with them for the rest of the season.

Well, I was sure wrong about Parcells and Romo and the Cowboys. No quit in them at all. Strange things sure can happen from week to week in this league. What a rollercoaster of emotions and performances.

We didn't expect the Cowboys to be up and we sure didn't expect the Eagles to not show up. Like the Cowboys, Jax showed their pride and determination. And then there was Peyton Manning! He may have silenced some critics tonight. He always beats Denver. Now he has to get by New England and Brady again if they prove to be back.

2wins and 3 losses ain't gonna get it done.........Not making excuses but I didn't expect Philly to sleepwalk through the entire game, and I still can't figure out if Champ Bailey suited up today for Denver........I must have been suffering from a World Series hangover when I made my picks...........No biggie, we'll get 'em next week.
