  • BREEDER'S CUP PICKS

O.K, O.K, we've got guys on this forum that excel at College Football (Dragon, Rick, Sakras, Jeff, F.B Picks, Spang, etc.), then there are those that excel at MLB (Woodee, myself.......har-har), those that are best at College Hoops (Spang, et al), and those that have good insight for all of the above...........Much too numerous to mention..........But while I profess to love the NFL challenge, I must admit that my daily love is actually trying to figure out how fast the four-legged athletes are going to cooperate with my handicapping mentality.......That being said, I can honestly say that tomorrow is my Superbowl of Superbowls.........Here's a little clue as to what I'll be looking forward to--first thing in the morning.

We all play on-line, and this will be a little thing that I'll be throwing at them while I'm watching myself lose my ass on College Football........ESPN covers all of the action starting at 12:30 EST.........Good Luck........Horses are not listed in race order, but in the order that my wallet will dictate.

Breeder's Cup Mile: I saw this horse called ARAGORN run better than any horse I've seen since Spectacular Bid when he dismantled a field in a Grade 1 Handicap at Del Mar in August.........He has since slowed things down while facing inferior competition in his last two races on the West Coast, but I get the feeling that they were mere maintenance works.......the trainer (Neil Drysdale) is one of the best when it comes to gearing up a horse to a REAL race, and we've got the best turf jockey in the land, and odds on the morning line of 5-1........This horse could run third and we could cover our bet........If he wins, you probably won't hear from me until sometime in December........If he doesn't like the soft turf course in Louisville, it will take me until then to regroup my losses.

Breeder's Cup Sprint The owners of BORDONARO had to ante up $120,000 to get the horse into the race........The trainer (a good friend of mine named Bill Spawr) tried every way he could to figure out how not to cough it up.........But the owners won out........It's their money, and since he's the REAL speed of the race, it's their race to lose.........He'll face a stiff challenge from another game horse by the name of SIREN LURE , and the quick little 3 year-old named HENNY HUGHES , but the feeling here is that BORDONARO is the real deal.

Breeder's Cup Juvenille Simply put, if the last race didn't take too much out of PRINCIPLE SECRET , the rest of these can only hope for 2nd money......he's one game colt, and can attack from on, or off the pace......enough said.

Breeder's Cup Filly or Mare Turf This race is between 3 females named WAIT A WHILE, OUIJA BOARD, and HONEY RIDER.......... best advice here is to "box" the exacta.

Breeder's Cup Classic The media is billing this race as East vs. West.....That being BERNARDINI VS. LAVA MAN, but this race has notoriously gone to someone that didn't figure........Now I'm not saying that these two aren't the horses to beat, but something always seems to get them beat...........A couple of longshots to consider (or at least throw into your trifecta) might be FLOWER ALLEY, BROTHER DEREK, GEORGE WASHINGTON, INVASOR, AND LAWYER RON ......just something to consider in a race I can't wait to watch .........Either way, Good Luck, but make sure to pay the rent first.
