I more than likely won't play anything this week, but here's some thoughts a few of the games that catch my interest.
Giants@Skins - If any team does NOT deserve to make the playoffs it's the G-men. Losing 6 of 7.....a lame duck coach.....players pointing fingers.......I make the game a pick and wouldn't be surprised to see the Skins put the final nail in the Giants coffin.
Buff@Balt - Can't see Baltimore losing this one. But covering may be a different story.
GB@Chi - If the Giants go down, as I think they might, this game will have some drama. Favre playing in potentially his last game with a playoff birth on the line.....against a bears team resting starters. If the Giants lose, the Pack +3 looks good.
Pit@Cinci - Every year we see teams hanging by a thread, in need of a win to keep the playoffs alive, and what happens? They lay an egg. This sets up nicely for the Steelers to send Cowher into retirement on a winning note.
Miami@Colts - I just have a feeling the Colts are going to turn in a big performance this week....the way to attack the Colts is by running the ball and Miami can't run. A BIG Indy win wouldn't surprise me. If the Colts are going to do any damage in the playoffs this year, they'll win this last game going away.
Oak@Jets - I wouldn't be surprised if this one isn't as easy as expected for the Jets. Remember USC/UCLA when books were already putting up lines for the USC-Ohio State game?
Sea@Tampa - Holmgren has said he won't rest starters and wants to win to build momentum for the playoffs. If he is telling the truth, Sea wins this one.
Remember......teams that HAVE to win, playing against teams just playng out the season, are at somewhat of a disadvantage right off the bat. They tend to play much tighter, as opposed to the team just playing out the season, who can open it up and take chances.
There's also built in line value.........but every year we see teams that HAVE to win, fall flat.
