  • Tight NFL Playoff lines--To Tease or not to Tease?

Lines are tight in my opinion for the playoff games coming up.

I may tease 1 or 2 and see what happens b/c I am seeing value on both sides of the lines they have out on all the games.

    My fav possible play is:

    SD +2.5 vs. NE
    Chicago -2 vs. Seattle...7point tease.

Any thoughts, and if you guys were to tease 2, what would they be?

I think the Saints will roll over the Eagles. Brees and Payton's play calling will torch the Eagles suspect D. Although the Saints D is nothing great either.

Indy plus the extra teaser points sounds good.

Not sure how the Seahawks will do in Chicago. Doesn't look good for the Seahawks with their injuries, but there is the Grossman factor.

    Just my humble opinion.

    Good luck!

I think you're on the right track Woodee..........As a matter of fact I think you could probably get away with teasing any of the favorites this week...........Barring a complete meltdown by Rex Grossman, the Bears should finally put the Seahawks out of their misery..............Ditto the Saints and the Eagles, as I think the clock will strike midnight for the Philly fans........They should consider themselves fortunate that they made it this far..............In the AFC, the Chargers should be able to keep the ball away from the Brady Bunch with a solid dose of LaDanian Tomlinson............true, the Patriots are always tough to beat at this time of year, but the Jets had some big plays against this defense that may be a cause for concern if you're a New England fan.............To me, the easiest cover of the week should take place in Baltimore.............Simply put, Peyton Manning will quickly discover that the Ravens defense is a little different than the one he faced against Kansas City..............The Ravens are probably the surest thing of the weekend..............Good Luck Woodchopper, I'll be posting a more in depth analysis of the weekend games in a later thread.............Boone

Rick, I my opinion--you are one of the most saavy-prone handicappers in this forum, and I always respect your views, picks and opinions....cause you know your shit.............But I seriously think that the Colts are in deep trouble this weekend........to the point that I don't think they'll ever be in this game..........The short passing game that they've become accustomed to, will get it done against the Houstons, the Clevelands, and the Kansas City teams- but now your asked to go into the best defense the league has to offer, and I don't think they stand a chance............In short, I get the feeling that they lose this weekend the same way they won last weekend............Low scoring domination by the Ravens defense and all-around offensive show, to the point where I see the Ravens winning by a comfortable 17-point margin................You asked for viewpoints, that's just mine...............Good Luck to you, and stick to your guns champ..........Boone.

            Teazer

I think the 2 team teazer offers alot of value as these games get tougher. If you give an NFL team 10 or more points you have to take it. Any combo here of an NFL Team getting 10 or more points, you gave to take it. If you think a team does not belong in the playoffs remember any team can beat any other team on any given day. Good Luck 2 teams and take the points.

I hear what you're saying Chevy, but take notice the these 2nd Round games are seldomly close...........As a matter of fact, they are usually blowouts.............You've got the best teams, at home, with another week of rest........that's a pretty big trio of obstacles to overcome if you're coming in as a road dog.............Just a few things to ponder.

Thank you for the kind words Boone, very much appreciated.....As far as Indy, With the offence they have I find it hard NOT to take the 10'..Their D has also showed up lately..The one that does scare the most is SD. NE has been here before and experience does help.....JMO

Now If Chicago can do what they are suppsed to do, I'll win this one.....I also have the Bears -8 that I bet earlier in the week. so I think I might put a little on Seattle at 9'.....

I think people are underestimating Rivers. Besides, the San Diego 'D' is enough to keep them in the game even given a sub-par performance from the QB (kind of like Chicago?). It happened many times during their "10 game winning streak" The team was even good enough to overvcome the loss of their best defensive player for 4 games and still win. We already saw how the common thought process worked yesterday. Baltimore and N.O. were supposed to roll over their opponents. Most people aren't giving the Chargers a chance it seems. They have some very formidable players on both sides of the ball. The defense will step it up to an even higher level today. The front 7 will make up for the less formidable secondary. I think the under is very likely but San Diego will defeat New England today

                      Hi Woodee.
I've stated this before, but I almost always use teasers. More often than not, I tease underdogs. Yesterday I had NE+11.5 and Seattle + 15.5 in a 6 point teaser. When lines are tight, it usually is best to add points to the dog, then subtract from the Fav. All dogs covered this weekend.
I don't bet a lot of money on these teasers, but I usually hit about 80%. Some weeks better than others, of course. I usually stay away from teasing totals. Using "6 point" teasers, a special team or defensive touchdown can kill you in a hurry.
Just my thoughts, based upon my experience and luck.
