Our fellow Bettorsworld members are too good to be true, and faithful to the sport.............We post our picks and insights with no thoughts or fears of being right or wrong, but with the wisdom of knowing that each player is going to put his money down to backup his own beliefs.....regardless of what somebody else's view may be................For someone to think that by posting a mythical record of how good a handicapper you dream about being, with no substatiation to back it up---and in turn expecting a forum to honor it, is absurd.

Most of us here know that a regular gambler has good streaks and bad streaks, and sometimes you're hot and sometimes you're not.................There are weeks to feel good about, and others you can't explain...............But the regulars here know which of us take this seriously, and those out there that are "fly by nighters"....................I honor all of my fellow members on this forum..... and to try to list them all by name, would only serve to omit someone out there that's just as important as the next one...........But you know who you are, and I wish you each the best of luck this weekend.

A fellow player very close to me mentioned the fact that I was backing all of the favorites this week, and stated that he just couldn't see all of the favorites covering the spread because it would be "too easy for that to happen".

I simply pointed out that all of the favorites won last week on a "moneyline" parlay, despite the fact that they didn't cover the spread................This could be a nice strategy this week-- since it pays 5-2, and you won't have to give up any points to invest in this manner..............Just a little food for thought for those that hate the thought of giving up any points.

The best of wishes to all from everyone here at the BOONE MOONE FAN CLUB AND RADIO NETWORK

            ;)

Aside to Garister: Can't believe Baltimore is still 15-4 (odds on Bodog at the moment) to win the Super Bowl............That's almost 4-1...........The books are figuring that they have to win in San Diego...............But when they do, they'll be 2-5 to win it all.............Key is, to get down now, and not have to give the 11 points or so in the Big Game in Miami on Feb. 4, 2007.............Don't say I didn't tell you so.

been enjoying this thread and have a few thoughts to add of my own.

indy/balt- IF the weather is not terrible, i am with manning and company. colts D showed up last week and showed it could shut down a potent running game. IF the weather is nasty i will abstain. getting better than FG in decent conditions seems like a solid play to me.

ne/sd- very intrigueing matchup here. best post season QB we have ever seen vs an unproven one. best post season head coach vs argueably the worst. AND i can get 5 1/5 points too? i shall try the pats.

philly/no- i dont like this one now since philly db shep is done, bigger loss than folks realize. ill try some "overs" though. saints did nothing to upgrade a hideous defense and a beat up philly secondary should yield plenty of yardage. if i had to take a side id go with philly. i am not convinced saints can get it done in the bright lights of the post season.

sea/chic- what a horrible game in what should be awful conditions. grossman makes this one a "stay away from special". i could see either team winning outright here. is D-Jax healthy? he is a HUGE part of what hasselbeck likes to do in the air, his "security blanket". can "butter-fingers" stevens continue to make plays from the TE spot? i lean towards the unders on thsi one IF weather is indeed awful.

thats my 2 cents...good luck to all sinners this weekend

Good Luck Boone and the rest of you guys.

The only play I have made thus far is Chicago -8 on the buy earlier in the week.

Indy/Balt...A tough call but juts think the way that Peyton runs that offense is good enough to take the 4 points. Total-no clue...everything points to Under so I may go over if I had to make a play.

Philly/NO....A good game to stay away from. Think it may be a FG game and the points would be my pick. And Over the total too.

NE/SD....A good game but I think Brady and Co. past hype is holding this line down under 6. Lighting Bolts' D is back to where they were ealrier in the year and with LT on your side and a QB who can at least manage a team, SD is the pick. No clue on total.

Good Luck to all....still trying to make my NFL contest pick and can't make a good solid pick at all.

Needless to point out, I had one of my more miserable weekends in quite some time...........It's kinda wierd how I was on all four road-dogs last week, and instead, they all cover this week............Hell, this week they had me on all fours !!................that's just the nature of the beast I guess................But I've been at this game long enough to realize that although one good weekend can make your year, one bad weekend can't break your year...............but it came close though !!

It wouldn't have been too bad if Marty's team once again hadn't found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.............I don't really blame him this time though, but there are a couple of Chargers defensive players that feel pretty stupid right now...............I'm far from being a Charger fan, but you gotta feel for those folks right about now.

I'm still not convinced that the 4 best teams moved on, but it's the hand we're dealt to play, and play I will next weekend............Hope the luck turns around for us.

I think were pretty much in the same boat this weekend. Very very bad weekend. Its funny how humbling gambling can make you, but ive found out that its best to just get right back up. A few things that happened this week really didnt surprise me as much as it did some. I was not that comfortable this week with my picks but couldnt come to another conclusion. Well theres always next week. Good luck to you next week.

Thanks J-Pal, and same to you, but there's one last thing I'd like to add.

You're right, the games weren't too far from what we figured..........I figured the Ravens would contain Manning-- and they did, but Baltimore couldn't move the ball themselves..........Grossman played good, but they couldn't cover the number............The Chargers had the game won, but lost it anyway...........The Saints were the better team, but they couldn't cover either.............Just continues to prove that the f**king bookies are still smarter that us.....
                          ;)

I pretty much retired from wagering recently and I have to say this weekend I was allowed to enjoy the games and root for the teams I wanted to win regardless of who I had wagered on or whether they covered or not.

I think I will stick to fun contests. Who needs the aggravation? The joy of sport is to enjoy and appreciate the competition and performance, (now that I'm not actually playing it anymore). Who cares whether a guy can predict the outcome of the game, anyway? What does that matter? What does that make us? Then we just get angry at the player or coach who screwed up our prediciton.

It's fun to add a little juice to a game when you have something riding on it, but then you have to take the lows with the highs. Why bother? Who needs it? Relax and enjoy the game! Root for a team to win, and not by how many. And then walk away from it with no stress or anger.

Oops, sorry for the preaching. Most guys on this board have a pretty even-keel when it comes to the winning and losing and just have fun and enjoy the little action they have going.

Okay, stepping down off soap box.
Maybe that Frist guy is getting to me. It's evil!
