Tuesday Hoops--Small Tourney Time!

Still up over the past week or so. And feel like I am getting a good 'feel' for the teams as we hit tourney time.

My goals:

1. Be more selective, limit my plays to at most 5 per night on a big card.

2. Limit teasers, and when I tease keep it to doggies or 5-6 home favs.

3. Hope to get some others discussing or at least posting their plays with the teams they know about.

Tuesday:

BYU +5.5 at Air Force....Think htis line is a bit high and could go to 6 but I didn't know if I will make it back to monitor it all day. AF and their #25 ranking is pushing this line up b/c BYU is actually the leader in the MWC. Both teams 'need' the win, so I will take the points and value.

Austin Peay -10.5 over Tenny State...AP killed these guys by 45 last time out. and beat them on the road earlier in the season. It is the tourney but teams don;t all the sudden find talent juts b/c it is a conference tourney and APeay has the better team, still.


Looking to add 1-2 more---

Samford +5.5 over Murray State?

Wiscy-Mil +8 at UIC

Tenny + vs. Florida if that line keeps climbing the Vols way.

I agree 100%, my problem is always like 4 to 5 games, but having interest in 5 more and I end up playing myself to deep (like last night) and get raped. I definitely want to be alot more selective and only bet the games that i feel the most comfortable with and not bet a game I know nothing about because of some asinine trend I dig up or someone else convincing me its a winner.

This is my play of the day, the game I have been interested in since Sunday evening. I think Austin Peay should control this game from the tip and it being tourney time, they'll be excited and looking to get to the Dance.

The only problem with being more selective is that surer than shit, when you like 7 games, and drop 4 and end up going with 3, you go 1-2 on the games you do play and 3-1 on the ones you dropped. Murphys law.

Cashed last night with Oklahoma.

Tonight I'm on Kanasa State +3

I'm not crazy about playing road teams this time of year but in this case Kansas State is simply the much better team AND they need the game just as badly as Oklahoma State. Both are on the bubble.

Oklahoma St lost to Missouri at home. Kansas St beat Missouri at home AND on the road.

Oklahoma St lost to Texas as Texas by 29 points. Kansas St WON at Texas by 1.

Oklahoma St lost by close to 20 both times out to Texas A&M while Kansas St only lost by 4 at Texas A&M.

OK ST lost at Colorado by 22. Kansas St won by 16 at Colorado.

Those games just jump out at me.

Oklahoma St has won the last 4 in the series and has won a bunch more than that consecutively at home against Kansas St. But I think Kansas St is due to win one here, there the better team and they need it just as bad. Of the two teams, it would be more of a crime if Kansas St didn't make the big dance.

Like K-State +3 too and just played it. Hate backing big-name coaches like Huggins b/c thats what the public does, and especially on the raod at Okie State, but I think they are the winner even on the road tonight.

Also played Florida -170 on the ML. for a small bet.

My 4 final plays after further research:
Austin Peay -11: Beat hell out of same team by 45 last go around.
Youngstown State -3: Just beat Detroit a couple weeks ago by 10, should be a similar game.
San Diego State -3: 4-1-1 ATS Away // 4-0 ATS Home in the last 10... going with the trend.
Eastern Kentucky -8: Playing very well at home, 4-0 ATS Home in last 4 games.

Wish I would have pulled thr trigger...Decided to pass on that one and Samford won SU!

Also, need to stick to my early thoughts on games...Layed off Tenny and played Florida on the ML instead. Has tenny pegged and then talked myself ouyt of it.

And Austin Peay couldn't get over the hump and actually got taken to OT. This tourney will be fun to cap the rest of the way.

Back at it for hopefully some big Wednesday winners.
