Give us a review and scouting report on the NFL teams that you had the opportunity to watch this weekend.

St. Louis Rams looked pretty weak. Carolina pushed them around. The Rams have a very small D line and Carolina took advantage.

Bulger looked uncharacteristically gun shy and inaccurate. His receivers try to avoid contact. Steven Jackson had fumblitis. I won't be backing these guys. No emotion. No energy. No chemistry.

Carolina will be pretty solid this year. Steve Smith is awesome as usual. He can't be covered. But Jake will probably be erratic. Fox prepares the team well so they will be competitive. And they have a good attitude and pretty good team chemistry. If the Saints slip, the Panthers will take the division. Pretty good D and a little better than average O.

Dallas has a very good O, but questions on D. Same for the Giants. Almost as good on O as Dallas but worse on D.

As Madden said, both Romo and Eli will be fine and will even excel if the cast around them does their job. Both looked sharp.

Injuries hurting both teams. Dallas needs Newman and Ellis back and Giants need Osi, an in-shape Strahan and a whole lot of help in the secondary.

Cowboys will go 10-6. Giants 8-8, maybe 9-7 only because they might be able to outscore a couple teams.

Cowboys are not Super Bowl contenders. Weak D and average running game. Parcells left because he knew that while they would be good, they didn't have enough studs on D to get to the Super Bowl.

Jags got surprised by Titans speed. Their offense ran away from the jags all day, gaining 282yds on the ground meanwhile Jaxs couldnt run and therefore became 1 dimensional.
Scoobee doo was hobbling so bad that after kicking a 22 yd FG in the 2nd qtr for the jags he couldn't do it anymore. In fact it was either late in the 2nd or in the 3rd when the Jags had 4th and 10 from tenn's 20 yard line and decied to go for it and failed. They never score again.
Jags only TD came on a long pass to Bironas early in the 1st.

On paper it looked like the Steelers dominated the Browns, but in reallity it was the Browns sloppiness on offense and special teams unable to execute.
Steelers flowed through the browns line like a river constantly harrassing whoever dared to play QB leading indeciveness and harsh mistakes.
Big ben continues to throw into tight coverage not wanting to give up on a play by throwing it away. Parker acted like the ball was covered in oil losing the handle several times with bobbles but only fumbling once.
        Browns seemed intimidated.

I saw the same thing you saw in the Dallas game, It would have been very exciting to watch if I didn't have a lot of $$ on the boys. I think I got an ulcer from that game.
        good luck

Theres not much more I can add to what Widestrides said except when both Newman and Ellis return to this D it will be a whole different ball game. Many don't understand the impact that Ellis had on this D last year....Also wanted to add that Romo didnt look sharp until the third quarter...I was really surprised at how many times Phillips blitzed the Giants..... Really got the feeling that he over did the blitz in this game.... Giants are due to implode with in the next three weeks.... Same story different year....... Like stride said I think they are good for 7-8 wins..... I believe that just like last year they will hit a stride of 3 to 4 games where they will look great then return to crybabies.....

Watched Philly at Greenbay... Really thought it was obvious that Mcnabb is not 100% I believe I saw him wince a few times after scrambling... I can see another early exit if he returned to early......Also believe that they lack superior wr...Phillys looked as if they threw there special teams together at the last minute...cost them the game.... Gbs D exceeded my expectations and I also think that they will surprise a few people this year...... Favre same guy different year...Still the gunslinger he has always been.....Its hard to hate him but some of those damn plays are just way to risky but he pulls them off 75% of the time...

Watched a few quarters of Houston/KC .... As I stated earlier in preseason KC is worth fading untill week 4.. I would expect big things from Andre Johnson this year... KC will battle the browns for number 1 pick as of right now.....

Heard rumors that they were already calling for Quinn in Cleveland.....I hope they dont throw this guy to the wolfs to early... Didnt get a chance to watch the game....

            just my 2 cents....

                Cinci and Baltimore.

I think I got away with one here as I had Cinci. After watching it, I think Baltimore is the better team. They gave it away with all of those turnovers.

I think they should go with Boller. He's good and confident. He did everything to tie it at the end. Bad call on Heap for interference on his TD and then a perfect pass (although maybe a bit hard) to Heap for another TD that Heap couldn't hold. Baltimore's D is awesome, provided Ray Lewis is not hurt too bad. Even without him , they are probably the best D in the league along with Chicago.

Cinci is very good also and they will roll against teams that aren't as good as Baltimore on D. And that's most teams. Cinci will go as far as their D can take them. They will have to outscore teams like Pittsburgh, Seattle, New England and Tennessee. By that I mean their offense will have to score a lot in these games, because their D might allow a lot to good offensive teams. So Cinci probably a good play at home, but be careful on the road.

                    Denver Broncos

I watched quite a bit of the Broncos/Bills game. Although I had the Bills I am not sure how Denver did not blow them out.

Cutler had a good grasp of the offense and was running it the way Shannahan intended him to and the broncos had the fierce running game/play action working.

Cutler is still kind of raw and made some bad decisions under pressure but he has a strong arm and overall looked good.

The Broncos run defense was a bit suspect and will be a problem against a good offensive team.

I look for a lot of shootouts throughout the season especially against the top AFC teams.

Bills were a typical Jauron team. Solid defense but not much on offense. They are always a live dog at home but outside of that role they looked like they will struggle.

A quick note on the Bears/Chargers...........The Bears killed themselves with constant goofs, and I get the feeling that they actually played the better game had it not been for all of their stupid and untimely mistakes (not that there is ever a good time to make mistakes), but even though I relunctantly went with the Chargers in this one, I feel I (and they) got away with one.........On the other hand, it looked like they didn't take the Bears too seriously, at least not this early in the season, and it was surprising not to see them utilize LaDanian Tomlinson as a bigger role player than they did.................Again, with a big conference game coming up this week in New England, they were probably just "warming him up" -- seeing how he didn't really play at all in the pre season............Look for his usual huge game this weekend against the Pats.

Kinda curious to see what the Carpet has to offer knowing full well that the Bears are capable of much better than they showed opening week...........JMO...........Welcome back everybody.

No it's Derek Anderson but we'll see how it plays out. Anderson is now slated as the starter with Quinn as backup but he'll have to perform right off the bat I'd assume. Anderson is a load at 6'6", 230lbs. Would be cool if he does well.

Hey Dragon, with a name like Derek Anderson, standing 6'6" and 230 lbs, don't you think this guy might have been better off in the NBA ?
