    Khandor -

    1) It's BETTORSWORLD with an "o", not an "E"

    2) No. I have no clue what you are talking about. Why don't you explain yourself rather than underlining and putting things in bold. Thenwe can have a discussion and see what's what. Not so sure you get it though. There is no contradiction above.

    3) If you have questions about a contest, either put the questions in their own thread, or email me the questions. Don't put them in the contest thread.

      Thanks for pointing out the typo.

      Here's what I think you said before:

      (a) a book will roll out the red carpet treatment for anyone who plays into a line which is inflated toward the favourite by laying the higher number ... when compared to what's available at other books ... because that "square" is destined to eventually lose his/her money;

      and,

      (b) bettors would be well-served to follow their own handicapping techniques, in determining which games to play into, regardless of the direction the line moves, exclusive of injuries and bad weather, heading toward kick-off ... because there's a 40% chance that even the "smart money" (which can influence how a line moves) will be wrong and actually increased your likelihood of winning your play by moving the line favourably in your direction.

      IMO, what you wrote in (a) applies mainly to squares ... not to sharps, who can keep collecting W's, betting on the favourite, despite playing into an inflated line; while, what you wrote in (b) applies mainly to sharps ... not to squares, who can't keep collecting W's, betting on the dog or the favourite, even when playing into an inflated line (i.e. that's what makes them squares, in the first place).

      The situation for a sharp is very different than it is for a square.

      I will put my questions to you in a separate thread from now on.

        This is what I was afriad of with a thread like this. What starts out as an attempt to educate and help anyone wanting to learn, turns into mis-information and confusion. clouding the picture even more.

        In my example about the guy laying 21 when he could have got -19.5 elsewhere, my example happened to be a guy betting a favorite. It can easliy work the other way. Same guy bets +19.5 when he could have bet +21. Same situation regardless of whether he bets the fav or the dog. So again, my example has nothing to do with fav or dog. It has everything to do with the line. The pro ALWAYS gets the best number. The square doesn't care what the number is. That's the key point.

        Next, you said "bettors would be well-served to follow their own handicapping techniques, in determining which games to play into, regardless of the direction the line moves"......WRONG.....I never said players should do anything regardless of which way a line is moving. On the contrary, I said players doing their own handicapping should concentrate on GETTING THE BEST NUMBER ON THEIR PLAYS. I then said don't knock yourself out trying to figure out who is making a line move, short of making sure it's not an injury or weather related move.

        Bottom line for all who do their own work.....or for that matter, all who bet on sports in general......concentrate on getting the best number you possibly can. Simple stuff. Let's not confuse the issue.

          First off, I am new to this site and it isn't my intention to cross paths unnecessarily with anyone in particular, especially pertaining to an issue like this when, from my perspective, it simply isn't worth it.

          Instead of going down this wrong path, I will just agree to say, right here and now, that you are absolutely 100% right and that I am absolutely 100% wrong, when it comes to determining what you "said" and what the words you used actually "mean".

          Okay, then, moving on.

          How do I send a PM to you, Bettorsworld?
