8-3 Illinois takes on the Wildcats from Northwestern
Saturday at home

Senior Day for Illinois and we expect the place
to be rocking. I dont see any emotional let down
for Illinois after beating Ohio State.

Illinois finds itself in unchartered waters, a win
Saturday a Major bowl bid a loss you can set up and
play in my back yard.....

Carpets first view of the floor

Northwestern is 6-5 and fighting for a
bowl bid, a very dangerous team in the hunt

The wildcats of NW have owned Illinois winning
4 straight , they have always given Illinois fits

NW has a very good QB kid named CJ Bacher
3346 yards 17 touchdowns 17 picks

The Carpet is focusing on the number of picks......

Illinois Defense is bend dont break and
NW will not torch this defense of Illinois

NW is very poor on Run defense, Illinois
will pound the ball forward at will vs this
porus run defense.

13.5 is a boat load knowing what I know
the line is razor sharp......More to follow

Random observations

Just sharing some random thoughts
and observations from the Floor.

This season Illinois schedule is the 9th toughest
in the country, The Illini have played 7 teams
that were in bowl games last year and 5 teams
ranked in the top 25 this year (ILL 8-3)
Beating 1 OSU 5 Wisky and 19 Penn State

Illinois Defense has recorded 36 sacks this season
10th in the country (look out NW)

Illinois Offense ranks 6th in the nation on
the ground at 261yards per game, running back
Mendenhall is in the hunt for the DOAK WALKER
awarded being named a top 10 national running back.

Last game vs NW Illinois ran for 214 yards with
Mendenhall gaining 113 of those (Here he comes
again wildcats)

Illinois Offensive Line is only allowing
one sack per game, first in the big ten
and 5th in the Nation (No huddle offense
will do that every time for you)

ILLinois kicking is solid gold with Jason reda
92% ranked 4th in the country (This kid can boom
it thru 25 mph winds 45 deep with room to spare
and be dead center)

Just sharing some of things I consider
or clutter my brain with as we stay at floor
level for the game.....

This young hungry team Northwestern
comes calling on Illinois.

NW in desperate need of a win to solidify
a bowl.

This young Illinois team lead by some major
play makers are falling back on the veterans
for leadership.

22 Illinois Seniors will play their last games
in Champaign, including Line Backer LEHMAN
of the Illini who puts the Pain in Champaign.

FUEL TO THE FIRE

Entering the season Coach Zook circled one
date on the calander.........It wasnt OSU, PSU
or WI, it was Northwestern.................

Coach Zook " No one in our organization
has ever beaten Northwestern, not the staff,
not the players so we made this our game"

Little did Coach Zook know how important
that circle was on the calander when he circled it
last summer.

Illinois 13.5 chalk at home

I have looked at this game from floor to corner.

The Carpets Floor view....

13.5 points is a boat load to give playing a
wounded dog.

Illinois coming off the largest win in Illinois History,
is due for a let down....It is only natural it happens

Carpet thinks the line is inflated based on beating
# 1 OSU.

Running the numbers if Illinois didnt beat OSU
the spread would of been 6.5 Illinois vs NW

NW is coming to play, offense will move the ball
tough scrapy team with a 6-5 record will come to play

I look for Illinois to win this battle straight up
but by less than 13.5 pts

I do like Iowa to roll today over Western Michigan...seems obvious but think s its the offensive explosion that Hawk fans have been waiting for all year.

And alos like my team, Iowa State to hang with KU for a bit and stay within the Number of +27.

See webers bunch just hung against Hawaii last night.

No let down for this Illini Team who rolled
over NW covering both bases.....

At 9-3 record the Capital One Bowl is
in sight...........

Wouldnt it be Great to see Florida
vs Illinois..........

What ever team gets Illinois as a draw
will have their hand full ..........
