The more I look at this game Illinois vs USC
it becomes readily apparent this game is
gonna be a War.

Illinois running game is Solid, and looking
at the running game for Illinois vs Ohio State, Michigan,
Wisconsin, and Penn State (all stellar run
defenses) None of these teams stopped the run.

The trojans on paper cannot show me
that they can stop a good running Offense like
Illinois.

Keep USC Offense off the field control the running game
and its lights out for USC. (A Key to the game)

Carpet believes that both teams, USC and Illinois
will be suprised by each others speed, talent and
strength.

Each team will have earned a
mutual respect for each
other by the end of the 1st quarter.

Here is what I do know two very good teams
will suit up and come to play, the speed talent
and hard hitting will suprise both teams.

14 is alot of lumber to lay Carpet believes
that line is inflated.

The Over also looks very high.

Lawrys Restaurant continues its 50 year
tradition of the Beef Bowl.

The Beef Bowl is a reward to both Rose Bowl
Teams.

Both Teams will see how many slabs of
prime rib they can put away.

The record by a team is 612 pounds, Michgan
Wolverines hold that honor as a team.

Usual average for a teams is between low 400
and low 500 pounds.

Carpet knows there are some Big Hungry 300
pound players from the cornbelt coming to eat
some Prime Rib. (Lawry's better add a few more
workers that night)

the Rose Bowl 70% of the time over the
last 50 years

Hugh Hefner Illinois Alum 1947
was asked about Illinois chances in the Rose Bowl
vs USC.

"I think it is going to be a close game."

When asked if the Illinois football team is
coming to pay a visit to his playboy bunny mansion
Hefner said....

"Illinois is not going to allow a visit to avoid
distractions, And if you come to my mansion
you get distracted easily"

Amen to that Mr Hefner...................

Illinois players continue to get healthy
on both sides of the ball, this rest is something
this Illinois team needed badly to heal those dings
and bruises.

After the Ohio State Game there was a line in
the training room to use the whirlpool 8 deep, OSU
hurt several Illinois players that game, infact
I think both teams lost 4 players each that game.
