    Motor City Bowl
    Purdue vs Central Michigan U

Central Michigan in a Bowl ? Yes they are...

Purdue played CMU earlier this year winning
45-22 . Now a rematch ......How is that possible?

It is possible because the MAC champion had
to be selected and the MAC Champion was CMU.

This looks like a beat down, lets keep our eyes
on the floor to the line.....

Jumping ahead a bit...Hawaii/Georgia. Ga -9 is the opening line. Did anyone see how pissed and down georgia's coach was last night?

If the coach is down and feels snubbed, how is the team going to react?

I like the points with a motivated team with a high powerded offense. No D, but think they can win a shoot out either way.

Thats the only game I really looked at and was waitting for the line. But right now thats my favorite play I see on the bowl game board so far.

    Any thoughts?

Purdue is -9 vs. Central Michigan I saw. Tough ganme--Looks like Purdue all the way but Cent. Mich improved over the year too. Dog may be worth a look but think there is better games to play.

Woode12 good insight on the Bull Dogs vs Hawaii

Wouldnt it just screw up the whole world
if Hawaii beats Georgia 60-0 is what I was
      thinking.

This Hawaii team can score in a hurry reminds
me of the old Loyla Marmount team in basketball
years ago scoring 145 a game in basketball.

I like the slighted angle you have pointed out
it is a good point to look at

Georgia feels slighted, USC does also, what
other teams could feel slighted coming into a Bowl???

        My two cents

        BYU -5 1/2
A true revenge spot for BYU as they out yarded UCLA earlier this year by 200 but still lost at the Rose Bowl thanks to 3 fumbles lost (5 total). UCLA now doesn't have a coach, and I doubt they are excited going to Las Vegas, and if they are excited, it's not for the football. BYU is used to making the trip to Vegas, always brings big crowds there and this game is their reward for winning the Mountain West. The Mormons will not be distracted by the glitter of casinos and strippers.

If it weren't for the firing of coach Karl Dorell out here yesterday, I would have gone with UCLA in this spot.........I've got friends with family members playing on the Bruin squad, and I distinctly remember them talking about how dirty the tactics were by the BYU players in the game earlier this year..............Sure, any of us that ever played the game at any level -- know what goes on at the "bottom of the pile".........but I hear it went far beyond that...........Sometimes the "revenge" factor is over-hyped, but I know personally of a few kids that wouldn't mind playing this game in a back alley...........Look for a hard-fought slugfest no matter which side you're on.

          ;)

I would think that both West Virginia and Missouri would be "go against" teams in the bowls....both knocked out of the BCS Championship in the final week. Especially Missouri, going from number 1 to, out of the BCS bowl games entirely. Aside from those I always look to the "overs" in bowl games when the situation allows....this year the over in the Fiesta Bowl jumps out at first look.

Yeah, it does seem the Overs hit often. Anyone have a stat on that the past few years?

Actually, it's not that much over .500 for over-unders the past couple of seasons taking all bowl games. You've got to be selective and play different factors that point to the over like: (1)coaching = give good offensive minded coaches that extra time to prepare and you get points.(Steve Spurrier a good example) (2) The weathers got to be good and artificial turf is a definite plus(domes are great). Past history is a good add as some bowls always seem to be high-scoring...i.e. the Insight bowl has went over the last 4 years in a row, Rose bowl 3-0 over last 3, Emerald bowl 3-0 last 3, Gator bowl 3-0 last 3. Then, if you really want to dig deep, you not only see how the individual teams do "in the totals" in bowl games but how their conferences do against each other in bowl games of late. It's alot of research, somewhat coincidental, but it does seem to work when you put alot of these kinds of factors together.
