  • Dolphins-Bills Opinions?

I really think the Dolphins have a decent shot at getting their first SU win of the season on Sunday...I hate the fact of a warm weather team going into the cold but I just think this is a good play...does Buffalo rate a touchdown favorite? Anyone else have any feelings on this matchup?

well i would prefer to bet against the Phins until they win as opposed to betting on them to win - right?? a streak only ends once and would rather be wrong once than be wrong 12 times (Phins 0-12).

i know the whole A>B and B>C therefore A>C logic doesn't work in NFL but Phins just got smoked at home by a very average Jets team....now they go on the road to Buffalo - and believe me, its cold up here right now....

    i actually like Buffalo here

I think there's some extra value in the line here with the Fish.......as a result of their blow out loss to the Jets and the Bills win over the Skins.

The Dolphins have played some competitve ball at times this year and even though winless, I don't think they are the worst team in the NFL this year.

The Bills have had their share of close home games this year as well.

I don't like the idea of the Dolphins leaving 85 degrees and Sunny though, and heading to Buffalo where the weather is calling for 31 degrees with snow and ICE PELLETS whatever they are

That weather does sound bad, but, I would tend to think it will effect both teams offenses and Buffalo has trouble scoring. Unless Miami turns the ball over giving the easy points, I really think this is very close. The ice pellets comment was very funny by the way...it is a very unique way of saying sleet. I see plenty of that here in Wisconsin. I'm watching the weather tomorrow as well, when the Raiders travel to Green Bay.

          Dolphins?

Why even bet on this team? Why put your money on a bad team? Who knows what they will do. Last week the were supossed to cover against the NYJ, what happened? Massacure. Stay away from this one or stick it on a Parlay.

Except for one simple fact ... I would absolutely love the Bills (-7) today, in their match-up vs the Dolphins (in frigid Buffalo, 31 degrees, with sleet expected).

Whether we like/choose to admit it or not, sentiment plays a big part in our personal love for sports.

In the movie, Stand By Me, the final line goes something like this:

(paraphrasing) I never found again "friends" like I had when I was 12 years old (or, in other words, when I was just a boy) ... none of us ever do."

For me, the 1972 Miami Dolphins were, and still are, my favorite team of all-time ... and the only squad in NFL history to ever achieve a perfect season.

I was 10 years old at the time ... and fell in love (i.e. agape), forever, with the mismatched cast of characters who came together that season in South Florida, like none other, before or since ... the No Name Defense (whom I'll honour, as a group, by not mentioning, as individuals), Shula, Arnsberger, Butch & Sundance and Merc, Morrall/Griese, Warfield, Twilley, Mandich, Langer, Little, Kooch, Seiple, etc.

35 years later ... and, regardless what my head tells me to do, as a handicapper, I'll be cheering for the Fish today, and the Pittsburgh Steelers (+10.5) ... because it's the Right thing for me to do.

Otherwise ... as always ... Good hunting to all.

PS ... By all rights, Buffalo should (and will) win today, easily.

              I have Buffalo -5....so take Miami +7.

Hard to bet on a team that hasn't won.

Khandor, I really enjoyed your sentimental look to the past...you are so right. My team's the Packers so it's fun right now but, it wouldn't matter if they were 0-13, they'd still be number one to me. By the way, Miami was a lock of the year today from several phone services.

Maybe they are the worst team in the NFL??
