  • Illinois -7 vs WMU

The Western Michigan Broncos host Illinois
this Saturday at Fords Field in Detriot.

A neutral site at the Lions Staduim capacity
is 65,000 estimated attendance low 20,000

A Quick look at the Broncos

A Mac conference team that is 7-2
averaging over 500 yards of offense a game
over 320 yards in the air per game

This is the same team absent the Offensive Line
that is young this year that beat Iowa in Iowa city
    last year.

The Mac conference in not one to be taken lightly
It is a tough conference to play in.

This year the Mac teams have beat Pitt at Pitt,
Michigan at MI, Indiana twice at Indiana, and Navy
They took Ohio State and Northwestern of the big 10
    to the wire losing.

This game is not to be taken lightly for
Illinois, as many say this is a look ahead game
for Illinois as Ohio State is on the dance list next.

WMU has beaten one team this year with a
winning record that was Northern Illinois
    who is 5-3

If Illinois wasnt fighting for its respect and
a bowl bid I would say they could lose this

However, the coach has spoken to his team and
told them this >>> We are going to play on
a professional field against a team thats wants
to take away your bowl game this year, we must
take this seriously and Man up.......

Carpet at Ground Floor looking at this game

    Random Thoughts..........

WMU has a 6-5 QB that has a very decent
passing game complimented by some good
receivers. He is more of a Pocket QB and nothing
like a dear running away of Juice Williams.

The Broncos have lost to Nebraska and
    Central Michigan this year.

This team is not thinking upset they are
thinking victory and are not a least bit
intimidated by a Big 10 school.

A very fiesty bunch of players who will
think they are in the Super Bowl playing
at Fords Field a NFL venue.

Illinois seems to always play up or down
to the level of teams they are playing, I
cant explain it but they do.

There are some major differences between
these two teams....And I shall point that out later
    in another post.

If Illinois takes this team lightly the only
Bowl game they will see is on TV.......

Iowa was in the same pstion last year and WMU came into Iowa City and beta them SU as larger dogs than this.

Off subject, whats your big 10 view of Penn State this week. I think they have way too much for Iowa. I think 7 is an easy number for them to cover even AT iowa. Huge talent gap in my opinion.

Leaning PSU -7 right now. And West Michigan +7 too.

I am staying away from Illinois in this game

While they have the horses and talent to
put WMU away, I cant pull the trigger on them
        here is why

        1. When the schedule came out I circled this
game in red as a Trap Game, with Ohio State
        coming to Illinois next Sat

        2. Illinois always plays up or down to the
        level of competition they play.

        3. The game is a Ford Field, ticket sales
are dismal low 10,000 range and this is
a 11:00am game. Illinois will start off
slow with this early start time.

Woodie12 you asked me about Penn State
        and Iowa

Show me a team that can stop the run and
I will show you a team that could beat PSU

However, PSU defense is superior to
Iowas Offense and will completly shut them
        down

        I like PSU

I knew Illinois would play down to the level
of competition and not awake for a 11am kickoff

Well Guess what I believe next weeks game
vs Mighty Ohio State is also at 11am

Penn State was exposed, show me a team
that can stop the run and I will show you a
team that can beat Penn State

Great Job Iowa (Illinois beat Iowa 2 weeks ago)

On to next week with the Illini, will it be
a beat down or will they play up to the level
            of team they are playing

Penn State Rushed for 180 yards so I don't think they stoppped the run.
Penn State was too intent on running that is why they lost.
              good luck
