Illinois coming off a tough 2 point loss at
home, plays the Georgia Bull Dogs, December 6
at the United Center.
This is home away from home for Illinois.
Georgia has hit the road for a 2 game road swing, losing
to Western Kentucky by 4 points, and now landing in Chicago to face the upstart Illini.
The Bull Dogs schedule is upon review thoroughly unimpressive.
A Loss to Loyola Chicago by 21 points.
A Win vs E Michigan 61-60, a one point squeaker.
A Win vs Mighty Presbyterian 55-47.
A Win vs Santa Clara 54-48
A Loss to Western Kentucky by four points (The same WKY team
that beat Louisville)
Georgia is a Poor Free throw shooting team at 62%
(This will haunt them).
If you look at pure numbers, these two teams on paper
look very closely matched, but I can tell you this, Figures Lie, and
Liars Figure.
Georgia on OFFENSE 65.1 PPG
ILL on OFFENSE 68.3
Georgia on DEFENSE 56
ILL 59
I expect the line to come in Illinois by 3, a low scoring defensive
battle as Illinois clogs the paint on defense (Clemson had 56 points
in the paint vs Illinois last game) and you can bet that Coach
Weber is all over that stat as he prepares the game plan.
TACKS ON THE FLOOR
Chester Fraizer of Illinois is banged up, clamp down
guard, with a heart of a Lion. The Leader of this
team is playing hurt and refuses to sit.
Illinois will limit Fraizers play, as they look ahead
to Missouri (A game on the calendar for both teams)
The Illini have played 6 games in 13 days and
this one again involves travel.
Carpets Pick
There are those that say Illinois should roll
over Georgia by 10 and there is a part of me
the agrees with that. (A small part)
I am amazed the line is at 8, expected alot closer
line.
The Bull Dogs are well coached, young and
athletic, they won their own conf Tourney last
year to the get to the dance.
Illinois is also well coached, young and athletic,
who almost won the conf tourney last year
Two good teams, trying to find themselves
and it will be close
I just dont see this young Illini team
putting anybody away at this time by 8
