  • Meaningful Game #1 Discussion: Dallas vs Baltimore

I see the line went from Dallas -5.5 to -4! Sharps jumped all over that to take Baltimore.

I wished I would have grabbed some, but -4.5 is almost as good and it might go back to that.

But I like the under 39.5 even more and was surprised that didn't move down. I may grab it now and buy it to under 40.

Both defenses should keep both offenses down. Unless there are turnovers for TDs, I see a 17-13 kind of game.

    What do you all think?

I think Baltimore had a really nice run there. After losing 3 in a row between Sep 29 and Oct 12, they rattled off 7 out of 8 to get to 9-4. I was really impressed and made a killing off of their Washington win 2 weeks ago. Then against Pittsburgh I was on them again and I even wrote up all those impressive home stats on Baltimore. But looking at their record now you see 2 wins each against Cincinnati and Cleveland, and then wins against Miami, Oakland, Houston, Philadelphia and Washington. So really, they've got 2 wins vs teams with winning records, and 5 of their wins are against teams with a combined record of 9-32. Not to discredit them or anything, because they did play Pittsburgh close 2 times, but that's a division game and it's always been close. And they played Tennessee close at home, but lost. And they killed Philadelphia at home. They are just 4-3 on the road though. And even though they beat Miami (9-5) and Houston (7-7) on the road, Rosenfels and Pennington still got nearly 300 yds each. Their toughest road games were at Pittsburgh, Indianapolis and NY Giants and they lost them all. In fact, Indianapolis beat them by 28 and the Giants beat them by 20.
They are coming off of a huge game that was for 1st place in their division, and they lost in the last few minutes after leading the whole game. They had to be sky-high for that game and they probably thought they had it won. I saw the interview with Ray Lewis after the game and he looked pretty shaken to me.
Dallas is also coming off of a huge divisional game, but they won. When their defense wants to play, they can be downright nasty. This game is sandwiched in between what probably was/is the 2 biggest divisional games of the year for them. But if they don't win this one it is all over and they likely stay home for the playoffs. Dallas is 6-1 at home, and have won the last 5 home games in a row, all by at least 4 pts. I definitely didn't like the 5.5 but at 4 it's starting to sound tempting. I don't think the Baltimore offense will be able to do much more than the Giants did, so as long as Romo doesn't throw INT's for TD's, I think the Cowboys have a great chance of covering in this one.

Wow my system love the Ravens and have them actually favored by 3.
7.5 difference then the Las Vegas bookies.

I guess we will wait and see. System tells me to bet big on the Ravens, but damn the Cowboys Defense looks great.

Sharps jumped on Balt last week also, as did most of touts. I didn't get it then, and don't get it now. Balt is bogus. They aren't as good as the real quality teams. They beat Philly in a fluke game, when Philly was slumping, where the score got away in the 4th quarter, and that's their only quality win(Miami isn't real quality). Baltimore is a bully team, but they won't bully a quality team like Dallas at Dallas when Dallas is playing well. I hope "they" keep betting Baltimore.

My system called for the Raven to win straight-up on the road in Dallas.

I think the Ravens are a solid team to make a run at the Super Bowl
