Maybe this is more my desire than my prediction. But Pittsburgh has been very methodical and conservative and will sit on a lead. Unless they "go for it" because it is the Super Bowl. Or unless their defense scores a TD or two and/or sets up some scores.

Otherwise I like the points.

Defense wins championships, and this game is a total mismatch on that side of the ball. The Steelers have one of the two best defenses in football this season with Baltimore having the other, while Arizona has statistically the worst defense of any team ever to make the Super Bowl.

The Cardinals got here with offense and emotion, but they will not be able to move at will vs. this Pittsburgh defense like they have the last three weeks, and I look for the Steelers to take away their spirit by physically beating up the great Arizona receivers.


Meanwhile, while Pittsburgh is generally conservative, they showed that they are capable of putting up points when they have to vs. San Diego, and they will appreciate facing this weak Cardinals defense after dealing with the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game. The end result should be very safe double-digit win.

Pittsburgh ranks 1st in points allowed, yards allowed, yards per pass allowed, passing yards allowed, yards per rush allowed, and second in rushing yards allowed, sacks, rushing touchdowns allowed and third in passing touchdowns allowed.

The Cards lost to the Jets 35-56, the Giants, 29-37, Philadelphia, 1st game 20-48, Minnesota, 14-35, and New England, 7-47.

The cards have one strength and that's their pass offence, not running the ball. How did they do against teams that did well against the pass? They played 5 teams that had top 10 pass D, Wash, Giants, Philly, NE, and all 4 were losses and all by 7 or more points. .........Defend the pass and beat the Cards.
