Its about that time of the year again. Ill be posting the past winners and rules to the contest as the season gets closer. It appears this contest is getting more popular every year. We averaged over 1000 hits EVERY week last year during the contest. Feel free to use this thread to post any updates to college football, such as teams to watch in the fall, i.e. go with teams and go against teams.

ILLINOIS
Phil Steele rates Illinois #19 preseason and
the # 1 most improved team for 2009
Steele also rates Illinois receiving Corps
# 2 in the nation.
This will be a fun team to watch when they have the ball
and with a improved Defense this Illinois team
will be very hard to beat
More to follow

You asked for a team to keep on your radar ILLINOIS
A Look at the schedule for Illinois
The schedule is not favorable to Illinois as they
will be battle tested early this season.
Missouri : Played in St Louis always a fun game
Without Chase Daniels and that speedy wide reciever
Missou had this is a different team, no longer a track
meet, look for Illinois to just out run this team
ILLINOIS WIN 1-0 straight up
Home game Illinois State (Trap game for Illinois)
Ohio State is next week, Illini will win this game
not cover the spread
ILLINOIS 2-0
Ohio State, at The OHIO STATE a loss for Illinois
RECORD 2-1
Penn State comes to corn land a week later after
a bitter defeat from Ohio State and beats Illinois
2-2
Michigan State in corn land vs the Pissed off
Zook and Illinois team, look for juice williams
to light this one up
ILLINOIS 3-2
INDY on the road, Illinois will win this game
just to much talent colored orange
ILLINOIS 4-2
Purdue on the road again for Illinois I see
a Loss here a t let down game for them
ILLINOIS 4-3
Michigan at Illinois, look out Illinois rolls in this one
setting records along the way
ILLINOIS 5-3
Minny on the road, Illinois will win this game
by 20 points
ILLINOIS 6-3
Northwestern at Illinois, This is not the same
NW team as last year, rebuilding year for them
Illinois smokes em by 20
ILLINOIS 7-3
CINNCY at Cinncy In prior years I would have been
worried about this game, but not this year, two teams
in opposite directions it seems, Illinois wins in
a sloppy shoot out
ILLINOIS 8-3
Fresno State, a high powered offense travels
2000 miles to play in Illinois, will be a fun game
and Illinois stumbles to a loss
ILLINOIS 8-4
That is my basic thoughts on Illinois schedule and
results at first glance.

Gotta love the way you do your homework Carpet...........3 months in advance?..........Now that's dedication.........I've always paid attention to the Illini program -- going back to the days of Tony Eason and Jeff George, but this year promises to be extra special with the return of the "Juice" for his senior year to watch him set more passing marks.
Ron Zook has these guys going in the right direction Carpet, and I wish you luck in hopes of seeing your boys out here for another Rose Bowl or perhaps more...........See you in the fall.;)

Yeah......I was in Wal Mart the other day and saw Phil Steele's annual as well as a few others.....seems like that magazine gets put out earlier and earlier every year.
At any rate, no excuses for any poor records this year.......you guys have 3 full months to study before the season starts......

History shows us that the winner of the contest in the previous year do not fair well in the upcomming year, i.e. cappermaster and whatnot are good examples of this trend. So all you folks expecting to tail taxman this season, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Regardless of what History may show of past winners
records the following year, I would have no problem
in hitching my sled to the Tax Man
He has over the years proven to be a very
good capper. He does his home work and knows his game
My money is on the Tax Man

ILLINOIS vs Missouri
Illinois vs Missouri
September 5 2009
3pm cst, espn
I saw some early numbers showing Illinois
a 5.5 favorite, my numbers say Illinois by 14
Missouri offense was gutted due to graduation
and they dont have Full Back
Missouri has a good offensive line and a solid
power back, but no FB, this really dont matter
not having a true Full back as Missouri runs a
spread offense
The tigers lost chase daniels QB to graduation and
there is no one on that roster that can run the
5-wide like he could
Illinois last victory of Missouri was in 1994
and with Illinois losing to Missouri 2 years in
a row you can bet Juice Williams and company
have this game circled in red.
57 days to kick off

I am going to open the season covering the
floor in green on Illinois and this bet

Rules for the Contest.
The COLLEGE FOOTBALL game of the week handicapping contest is just like the NFL game of the week contest. The contest is simple. Pick ONE COLLEGE FOOTBALL game per week, against the spread. The winner is the contestant with the most wins at the end of the year.
This contest is held in our main Bookies Hell posting forum. Picks are posted in the appropriate thread each week, and standings are generally posted on Tuesdays.
This contest is not only popular to participate in, but also very popular among those looking for quality free picks. Like the NFL contest, the reason for this is very simple. There are some great handicappers in this contest, and each week, you're getting their very best play.
Official Rules:
1. Players in this contest will post one pick per week using the line listed in the respective Weekend edition of the USA today…..SIDES ONLY. If more than one pick is posted the first pick will be used. Editing picks will not be allowed. Once your pick is posted it is official. Saturday games ONLY!!!!!
2. Sides ONLY!!! Picks MUST be posted by 11:00am (EST) on Game day Saturday. NO EXCEPTIONS !
3. The contest will run from Sept 5th (Labor Day Weekend) thru Nov 28th. Any tie breaker will be decided by the SEC championship game in Atlanta on Dec 2nd.
4. Wins (1 point), loses and ties (1/2 point) will be recorded and posted on the following Tuesday.
5. Not posting a pick will be counted as a loss.
6. Miss any combination of Three (3) Weeks of not posting a pick and you are OUT of the contest.
7. Players will "NOT" be allowed in after week #2.
9. If you come in on week #2, week #1 will be counted as a loss.
