This thread will be dedicated to a floor view of Illinois
basketball program entering the new season.

# 24 Illinois AP Poll opens up the exhibition season
this Friday vs Missouri Southeren.

With a experienced upper class returning combined
with a exciting freshman class Illini Nation has high
expectations for the next couple years.

The Big 10 is loaded with talent this year look for
team scoring averages to go up this year across the board.

Next up a break down of this team from the floor
to the rim.....

Illinois puts away Missouri Southern 95-67

The game was sloppy and included 50 fouls but here
is what I took away from the game.

Coach Weber has a dynamite freshman class and these
kids have all the tools, pushing the Juniors to play
better

Demtri McCamey Guard for Illinois the Leader of this
team played lights out, this young man has really grown up
Look for Mccamey to be a Big 10 all star selection this year.

Coach Weber played a zone defense in the game, first
time in a long time if not ever have i seen that. I Knew
he was toying with the Idea with the talent he has.

The Zone will not be Illinois staple in your face Defense
is Webers style but it was nice to see this added as a situation play down the road.

I have watched Illini Basketball for ever and I am here
to tell you this is the best talent the Illini have ever
had since 2004. Now it is up to Coach Weber to mold it
as he is gushing at the future.

Of Course with 4 freshman loaded with talent mixed with
a solid Junior leadership it's gonna take time to mold it
and Coach Weber is the guy to do it.

A Look at Illinois Basketball this team is gonna be Special.

This is a changed Basketball program remember this
my friends when betting on Illinois this year.

They run at will, pushing it up at 100 per cent
high speed, the talent is worth watching.

Loaded with new talent, the new players are
outstanding who push it all the time to the rim.
(this was missing last year)

D. J Richardson, Brandon Paul, and Tyler Griffy
all new studs have brought life Back to Illini nation.

McCamey a guard of Illinois, remember his name
this kid wants the NBA and has sleeper potential
a Junior leader of this young team.

This team reminds me of the 2004 Illini who went
to the Sweet 16 after Bill Self left. This same team
in 2005 went 37-2 the next year losing to NC in the
National Championship. (Only a betting reference)

Last year Illinois was ranked last in the big 10
for offense, this year they will be in the top 3 of the
big ten in scoring.

I think the Defense of Illinois will be alot worse
than last year early on, it is going to take some time
for Coach Weber to get em on Defense.

ILLINOIS wins 96 to 69

Brandon Paul broke the all time ILLINOIS RECORD
tonight by a freshmen for the most points in a season
opener with 22 points.

Deon Thomas held the record at 21 pts
in his first game.

These Kids are really talented........................

In the last 2 games this team has averaged 96 pts
a game (pinch me) been a long time and Carpet
knows Coach Weber is a master with talent.

Last year was like a 4 cylinder engine with this
team, this year looks like a 8 cylinder......

This is not a Homer Call..........

This team is gonna be really good and fun to watch

I know the book has Illinois has a ? They dont know
what to think and this works to our advantege early
as they adjust.
