  • Friday Night CFB - Boise St at La. Tech

I'm really liking Boise St -21 tonight.
La. Tech has obviously played much better at home. They are 3-0 at home and 0-5 on the road. But look at who they have played at home. Div AA doormat Nicholls St, and WAC doormats Hawaii and N.M. St.
Out of 120 Div I-A teams, Hawaii is ranked 107th in total defense and 23rd in total offense, and N.M. St is ranked 89th in total defense and 120th in total offense. Out of 118 Div I-AA teams, Nicholls St is dead last at 118th in total defense, and 104th in total offense.
La. Tech is 60th in total offense and 74th in total defense.
Boise St, having played a much tougher schedule, is ranked 21st in offense and 10th in defense.
Although these games were on the road, La. Tech's toughest opponents have been Auburn who won by 24, Navy who won by 18 and Nevada who won by 23. Boise St. will be the toughest overall test to date, and handled La. Tech easily last year at Boise 38-3.
Boise St has scored 38 TD's in just 8 games. They have only given up 14 TD's total, and 8 of those were to just 3 teams (Oregon, Tulsa and Fresno St). So in the 5 other games, the Broncos have given up just 6 TD's.
La. Tech is a little better than some of those other 5 teams, and they are playing at home. But Boise has been getting some press lately and are looking to impress the voters. They are coming off of 54-9 and 45-7 routs of 2 other WAC opponents, at Hawaii and vs San Jose St.
I'm going to guess somewhere in the neighborhood of Boise St 41 - La. Tech 13

They did beat Hawaii but Hawaii was still 2-1. Was not decimated by injuries yet and still had qb Alexander who at that time was 1 in passing. Held them to 3. Watching la tech they do look like a much better team at home. Like la tech -21 and under 52 today. Good luck, I might just stay away.

Well, as of HT they are not getting any style pts from me. You're not going to lose the game for crying out loud. Why not go for it 4th and 2 instead of missing a 45 yd FG? Seriously, what is going to impress the voters more. Having some balls and using your practically unstoppable offense to get a measly 2 yds for the FD, or trying a low percentage FG

Well, stranger things have certainly happened, but considering the score is 27-7 at HT and the HT line and total is Boise -10 / 24.5 I'd say you might be in a bit of a bind
