Just wanted to add an avatar, got a database error as follows:

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

That's been a problem for a long time. You can go to 'Quick Links' and 'Edit Avatar' and choose one of their avatars, but you can't download your own, unfortunately.
