  • Illinois -5.5 vs Northwestern

Illinois opens a early 5.5 chalk vs Northwestern

    It is a 11am kickoff.

The Book has pegged this line a bit High but it
is obvious many think the Illini have awoke.

QB Juice Williams went down last game with a
ankle Injury, he is still on crutches and we wont know
till later this week his true status.

Jason Charest a red shirt Freshmen QB came off the bench to lead Illinois to a W vs Minny 35-32. Let me tell you a little about Mr Charest.

He is 6-4 hails from NC where in High School he threw
for over 7600 yards with 78 touchdowns. A pure pocket
passer with unbelievable accuracy. Illinois has planned to
red shirt this kid, but when Juice faltered they started
to get this kid ready to play and lose the red shirt tag.

All at once with this kid at QB, The offense is awake at all
levels, the receivers, the Tight Ends, and Running backs.

I watched Charest stand in the pocket with a 300lb
gopher ready to crush him within 2 feet and this kid stood
and released a bullet strike just as he was being hit.
A Pure NFL type pocket passer.

Ladies and Gentlemen....Illinois has found a QB

The Defense of Illinois shows brillince at the Goal Line
defense, but open field just to many break down assignments.

3-6 on the season, and we all have wondered where
the Hell did this team go, I am telling you that they
have been awaken and confidence goes a long way when
    you are talented.

On the schedule is NW, Cinnci, and Fresno State
run that and its 6-6 (give me odds on that)

Illinois will beat NW at Illinois the line will be
key as to as spread bet.

Looking ahead I see Cinnci the most over rated team
I have ever seen playing in a weak conf that has no defense
at all. This will be Illinois Bowl game as they look to
knock off a unbeaten BCS bowl contender
as a consolation prize to the season.

    More to follow

I know Iowa lost thier QB Stanzi this week, but they are pegged a 13.5 dog at Ohio State this saturday.

A bit too much line adjustmet who was just #4 in the BCS before the fluke loss to Nwestern this past week.

I see Iowa keeping it within at least a TD.

I put my play in at +14 buying a 1/2 already as i don't see this holding up all week.

        Iowa +14 over Ohio State

Iowa is NOT Iowa without Stanzi and this loss
is Huge from a Offensive stand point.

The Back up QB looked terrible vs NW at
the the helm. It is my understanding that this
back up QB for Iowa has only about 4 snaps under his belt
          as a QB.

Ohio State is gonna force so many turn overs
it wont be funny. I hope Iowa has a third kid ready
to go off the bench just in case vs one of the top
          defenses in the nation.

Without Stanzzi its a 18 point game OSU

            Carpet,
I'm also looking at two other Big Ten games and would appreciate
            your thoughts:

            Purdue -1 over Mich St.

            Wisky-9 over Mich

            Like both home teams.
            Thanks in advance.

How is Illinois favored by 5 1/2 over any D-1 team (except maybe Rice)? Isn't that stiff Zook still botching things in Champaigne?

I jumped the gun on that iowa line as it is now 17, and I got 14--Stupid and typical of my plays lately always going the wrong way, or playing too early (late), ands losing value.

Anyway, I will roll with it, and see what happens. I think Ferenz will make some adjutsments but its going to be a tough game with that back up starting, I agree.

I like NW at Illinois + the points as they are starting to play some good ball, as their coach hinted that they are playing as well as they have all year.

But back-to-back road games is tough for any team too.

                    Krichinsky:

In response to your questions on the games referenced
in your post let me respond from the floor view.

Michigan at Wisky: The line opened -8 for wisky
                    and is now at -8.5.

Michigans defense is poor especially in the run defense
which was evident by Illinois rolling up 380 yards
of rushing on them. Wisky has a solid run game and
they should be able to run the ball right down the
                    slow Wolverine front line.

The Offense of Michigan has seen the old freshmen
curse come to play at QB (it was only a matter of time)
Wisky has a pretty good defense and should be able
                    to contain Michigan on offense.

While 8.5 is a bit steep I still like WISKY in this
game to cover, Michigan will turn the ball over just
                    enough for a cover.......................

And then you had to ask me about the toughest
game to cap in the Big 10 this week.

                    Michigan State vs Purdue

The line started at a Pick em, now has moved to
MSU -2.5 and 3 at some spots

When you look at pure Stats, State has the edge
in PPG, Yards Gained, Penalties, Fumbles, time of
possession, Yards allowed...... Purdue has the edge
                    in Punting.........

If this was a pure Stat play I would take MSU, but
                    it is not.................

You see there is something about playing a home game
in November at Purdue, the atmosphere is electric and
this team plays it's best a home.

Purdue has played some good football this year
they never let down play every down likes it last

I am gonna side with the HOME DOG and the Points
Purdue. I have watched both teams play a few times
this year and I am just not impressed with Mich State..

I heard thru the grapevine that Mich State may give
some fresh QB a chance at a few plays, there is talk
of rotating him in and out of the play schedule.

Sorry for the Long response but only the best for
                    my friends...........

                    Good Luck to you....

                      Great insight.
After further review, I'm leaning towards Michigan State
and here is why. This game will be their only chance to secure
a bowl. They finish against Penn State and Purdue closes
against Indi. With a good possibility that Northwestern looses
their last two, the Spartans would end up tied for 5th (I think)
                      and with a guaranteed bowl.

You probably didn't see my post from a few months ago, but I
was at Oh State's opener vs. Navy this year. After the game
I told someone that the battle for the Big Ten would be between
                      the Illini and Penn State.
At the time I probably had too much Juice.....

The line on Illinois is jumping all over the place
                        depending where you look.

Down to 4 at BoDog and at Sportsbook -3.5

Juice Williams QB of Illinois is still on crutches
it is highly doubtful that he will play in this game.

Dont Listen to Ron Zook who says Juice is a tough
kid and he may play thru it, In my opinion that is
only said to have NW prepare for 2 QB's and not one.

My numbers say Illinois by 7
