  • Spang Where are you? College Basketball Starting

Anyone hear from Spang anymore? If you recall, those who have been on the board for awhile, Spang had a phenomenal November record in picking winners when college basketball started. His November picks were almost always winners. He would finally come down to earth in December, but for November his selections were gold.

Hope he checks in and shares his selections this November.

    Speaking of college hoops...

I like Syracuse -21 tonight over Albany...Fresh off a huge loss to a Div.2 team, I see the Orange winning by quite a few.

Don't really like the others but it looks like Murray State may be a solid team this year, but see Cal being pretty good too.

Thanks, hope he comes back to the board. For a couple of years in row, he was a winner in November and early December.

Both contests tonight are interesting, but too much chalk for me. When researching Cal, stumbled across a nice Mike Montgomery interview about the one and dones in college ball that he prefers not to recruit.

Cal and Wash are likely the cream of the crop this year in the Pac 10.

In regard to Cuse and losing the exhibition game last week, I recall Steve Lavin at UCLA also losing an exhibition opener, and that was Lavin's last year at UCLA. With a NCAA championship under his belt, probably unlikely for Jimbo though.

Cuse cruised and covered pretty easily.

I don;t know what happened to Cal? I looked right before I went to bed, and they were up about 12, and I figured they would cover, but Murray must have made a run.

Murray won the second half 44-41.

I have mixed emotions on betting the early college hoop line...

On one hand, the oddsmakers don;t have as good as angle on most teams and you can find some sleepers if you know the teams.

On the other, we as the public, don't have a clue either unless you know the teams.

So I think the lines are a bit soft here and there, but you haver to know your teams.

I need to do some more research in hoops and it may start early as I am really about ready to throw in the towel for college foots!!

I'm looking forward to ESPN's basketball marathon starting next Monday night, especially since I will be in Vegas again at that time. It's always fun walking up to the sportsbook at 2AM to bet and then taking a nap going back to bet at 6AM.

I like Robert Morris +17 at Cuse tonight. Not a bad team returning and thing Cuse may have a little let down after the big 800 for thier coach the other night. Closer than expected.

Also like the other 2 dogs as well.

I'll bring this thread back up in hopes of getting Spang in here...

Monday noght hoops--Heres what I got--

                      Kentucky -19 over Mia-OH

                      Indy State +12 over LSU

                      Mizzou State +5 over Auburn

                      SD +2 over Pacific

Cal-State Fullerton +9 (1st Half) over UCLA...Think its close in the early going but UCLA may pull away late so don't want to mess with the back door.
