Heisman Betting

I have been taking a look at the recent Heisman odds and think I have found a good angle...

I think its donw to Ingram of Bama and McCoy of Texas.

McCoy is +485

InGram is +145.

From all that I have read, its really a race between these 2 guys with Ingram the front-runner.

I cannot see any of the others, Tebow or Gerhart, winning it. Tebow won it last year and has not overly impressed this year, and Gerhart not having the exposure needed to get the Eastern votes.

McCoy has Kansas this week which he should light up and then Texas A&M who he can also dominate. And has the Big 12 game where they should beat up on whoever they play out of the North. Mack Brown will give him every opportunity to pad his stats if they get up big, and he does have this life-time achievement crap they've been talking about.

Ingram has a cupcake this week, but may be rested late after they get up big and then the SEC championship.
(Maybe need some Red Raider insight on him too)


So what I am proposing to do:

1 unit on Ingram to win at +145

1 unit on McCoy to win at +485.

Scenario #1...Ingram wins and I win a little.

Scenario #2...McCoy wins and I cash 3.5 to 1 appx.

Scenario #3...Tebow or Gerhart win and I lose 2 units and look like a fool.


I think the odds are in my favor for either McCoy or Ingram to take it, and it may be worth the shot at winning some cash if McCoy indeed wins.

Any thoughts????

Love to see Ingram win it, but I think McCoy lights Kansas up like the White House Christmas tree and seals it. Thus my POW. RR84

So are you not giving CJ Spiller a chance? I dont know that he'll win, I say Ingram prolly, but i think he finishes higher than Tebow.
Clemson is playing for the Atlantic Division this week in his final home game against Virginia. Next they play at South Carolina, which over the past few years has been a day for Heisman candidates. Tebow with 7 touchdowns! McFadden with over 250 Yards! Ingram had 217 this year against them!
As for Ingram, Its gonna come down to how well he plays against Florida. If he has a good day and they win, he'll win it. If Florida stuffs Ingram and embarrasses Alabama he will not win it. Same for Mccoy, comes down to the big 12 Championship game. Nebraska or K State. Mccoy backers better hope its Nebraska cause beating K state won't impress anyone.
I haven't seen the guy from Stanford play, but i know hes good. He wont win...hell i don't even know his name right off. I'm sure that i will, but not cause its being called in New York.

Someone at the sportsbooks must have read my thread b/c McCoy is now down to +305!

That kind zaps some of the value out of it, and I did not put my plays in when I should have!

I think McCoy is going to kill Nebraska in the Big 12 title game and grab the Heisman.

You better not count out Tebow. If he waxes up Florida St and Alabama, look for him to carry the hardware again. He is still the best college football player in America!

I wish it was more clear cut for McCoy.
Not sure how much influence they have, but USAToday has
weekly articles and pictures of Teebow, with slight mention
of others....

Look if Tebow "waxes Alabama" I will never post again. Florida may win,but waxes, not a chance. Ingram or McCoy, arguement over!!!!! If he does, then he deserves it. Like Tebow very much and he deserves everything he's got. But like I said, maybe a month back. Texas and Bama will play for the national championship. GL to everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Just saw on local news that Auburns Tate says he's the best back in the sec. Ingrams reply, "Not going to get into any tongue wars against anybody, just trying to focus on our gameplan and anything I can do to help this team win" Maybe he doesn't say it in the press, but maybe he turns it up a notch. Class guy, really hope he wins!!!

Colt McCoy will win the heisman trophy tomorrow before he takes a snap. The Bama defense will show why they are the best and knock Tebow out of the running.
