Any thoughts on the NFL game tonight? Ater I picked Buffalo on my pick of the week, its obivious I stink at the pros. I know I pick at you alot, but really respect your NFL picks.

Thanks for the compliment, and hope I don't steer anyone in the wrong direction. But I really like Minnesota to cover, especially now that New Orleans has lost another one. Even before New Orleans lost, the Vikes had something left to play for, now they have the incentive of the possibility of home field thru-out the playoffs. And even before that I thought the Carolina loss and subsequent turmoil would be channeled positively towards this game. Chicago is in sad shape, and possibly playing the worst football of all 32 teams right now. I have Minnesota as my top Hilton pick at -7, but now I see it's at -8.5. I think I still like this one up to -10, and really expect a blowout.
The Vikings have looked pretty bad in 2 of their last 3, but both of those games were against teams that are really playing well right now (Arizona and Carolina). Chicago isn't, and they have already lost to the Vikes by 26. I suppose it could happen, but I would be extremely surprised if Chicago is competitive in this game.

          Thanks Tommy
Here's some more interesting stats going into this game. The Bears only managed to net 169 total yds of offense and 8 FD's in the last meeting, a 36-10 Viking win. Minnesota had 537 yds of offense and a staggering 31 FD's in that game, including 163 yds rushing between Peterson, Taylor and Harvin. Time of possession favored the Vikes by a margin of 40:55 - 19.05. Supposedly, part of the reason Coach Childress was pissed at Favre vs Carolina was because he was audibling out of called running plays in favor of his preferred pass play. I would expect a little more dedication towards the called plays this time from Favre, and look for the Vikes to really pound the 26th ranked Bears rushing defense with the ground attack. The Bears will not be able to run on Minnesota and will likely be playing catch-up, so Cutler will be likely to turn the ball over 3 times or so, so the possibility of a defensive TD is there.
And now that I've put this in print, we'll probably watch just the opposite

Yeah, all things point to a Vikes blow out unless the Bears manage some type of motivational transformation which is very doubtful once Cutler throws a couple picks.

I really hope Cutler gets the INT record tonight (that sorry piece of crap).

I have Minny +3 to finish up a teaser but I would probably play Minny -7 or -8 too.

But as it keeps creeping up, its hard not to see a bears back door if Minny gets up early and decides to coast.

All signe point to a 14+ point win for Farve and the Vikes in a statement game of sorts.

Plus the Bears have as much life as a floating terd (spell check please?? turd?) right now.
