Just was wondering how you felt about McClain going to the Raiders as there first round pick?? I personally think it is awesome and a great pick up for your Raiders!!! Man, wish both he and Kareem Jackson would have stayed for their Senior year. Big losses on the Bama defense. Anyway, congrats to you and your Raiders!!!!! I think that he will make and imediate impact for them. Good luck next year Boone for you and your Raiders. Hey, I'm quickly becoming a fan. LSU, ARKANSAS, AND now BAMA first round. DON'T KNOW HOW THE OTHER TWO WILL PAN OUT, this time you got a good one. Just my opinion!!!!!

He is also a fellow Red Raider which makes it really special for me!! Dragon, you are the pro expert on this site. I don't follow the Raiders too much, but seems to me that their O line has stunk the last few years. I would have thought that would be an area that they would have tried to mend. I really believe Russell has great potential. The games I saw, his O line let him down and he looked really bad. Not blaming it all on them, because he clearly didn't live up to his potential so far. I think the Raiders are moving in the right direction though. Not this year, but a team to look out for soon!!!! What do you think???

Thanks for the shout out Raider...........and I do agree that he was the best player available for our needs in the draft, but until Al Davis resigns as the managing General Partner, we will continue to play a style of football from decades past.

The game has progressed far beyond Mr. Davis's comprehension, and we are at the mercy of that.............JaMarcus Russell is just one example...........Fellow 1st Round draft pick Darius Heyward-Bey is just another.

Why not pursue the guys that would truly define the Raider image of old, and recruit a player with a mug shot on record..........Like Ben Rothliesgurger (sorry) or Michael Vick.........Those guys would fit right in...........Not Jason Campbell............He's merely a smaller version of JaMarcus Russell.........Sad but true.

Boone, very well said. I'm not or never have been an Al Davis fan. I agree that Jason Campbell is not the answer and that is hard for me to say because of my strong ties to the SEC. Unlike, Tebow I never thought much of him (Campbell) if I'm being honest. Still I think your Raiders are on the right path. Good luck my friend and hope both you and I do well next year!!!

Russell released!!!. Man like I said, I haven't followed the raiders much. Totally a shame.This guy had so much talent. Watched him in person several times and he could have been great!! Still, watch out for the Raiders next year!! Jason Campbell is not the best but if a good defense keeps him in it he could hurt your feelers!! I say Raiders will be VERY IMPROVED NEXT YEAR!! Personally know McClain, He is a difference maker. Hey, the only other RED RAIDER we have ever had in the NFL is Benny Perrin. He used to abuse me in practice!!! Bet nobody remembers him. Very good corner at Bama and in the NFL for the ST. LOUIS Cardinals. Bottom line not saying the Raiders will make the playoffs, but they will sooooon if they don't!!!
