IS YOUR COLLEGE RECORD MISLEADING? I HAVE YOUR ANSWER.....

During our football contests, the scorekeepers have to grade by rules and you are given a loss sometimes for being late, not posting, etc... A good example is PappaChippy... His record this year in college is actually 6-3. Pappa will have him finishing the season with a record of 6-6. This is not Pappa,s fault because he has to by rule. For somebody new to the site who goes back through the archives, you will see his record at 6-6 and may not want to follow him next season.

I however know he is one of the better cappers and would take into consideration his weekly pick. Here is everyone's record that picked a game either in the College POW or the bowl contest. If you made a post and it was a winner or loser it is in here. I didn't count losses for no post, late post or any other penalty. There were no extra wins allowed for bowl games (meaning if you won the sugarbowl for example, you got credit for one win.

I CHECKED MY RECORDS WITH DRAGONS AND WE ARE PRETTY MUCH SPOT ON. PAPPA AND I HAVE SEVERAL DIFFERENT AND I WILL GO BACK OVER THESE THIS SUMMER IF ANYONE WANTS A LIST. ALSO, I HAVE THEM BROKEN DOWN BY THE COLLEGE POW CONTEST AND THE BOWL CONTEST. I AM SURE I MADE SOME MISTAKES AND I WILL CORRECT THEM.

REMEMBER, THIS IS NOT A LIST TO REPLACE PAPPA'S OR DRAGON'S, IT IS SIMPLY A THEIR LISTS WITHOUT PENALTY'S...I DON'T WANT TO RUFFLE ANY FEATHERS AND DID THIS HOPEFULLY TO HELP EVERYONE.. RR84

With all due Respect I dont have any idea what point you are trying to make?

Are we playing the What If game? There are Rules for a reason and to keep stats outside of the rules is ok but useless, The responsibility on getting your bets in one time remains with the bettor. If said bettor cannot make place that bet in its required time then it is a no bet any where in the world.

So I assume your point is these are the picks made out side of the rules standings?

Carpet my friend easy, No one is complaining about the rules at all. As a matter of fact I firmly believe we should keep them as is.. THE POINT IS THAT THE STANDINGS DO NOT REFLECT THE CAPPERS TRUE ABILITY. I AM NOT GRIPING ABOUT ANYTHING, THIS WAS TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA WHAT EACH CAPPERS RECORD WOULD BE WITHOUT THE PENALTIES...

It is not anything else, don't read too much into it... There are people who are out of town, wake up late, or just simply forget to post on time. If a guy does just one or two a year, his record true record is tainted. I personally have not looked at someones picks too hard because of their over all record from seasons past. This is just something to let you know what his record would be without the added losses. I was not trying do anything except give everyone a clearer picture.

Red Raider we have seen several post in the games outside of the timelines some was posted after the 1st half on the board should we count them also?

Carpet, maybe I didn't explain this well. This is simply our cappers true record. (WINS AND LOSSES ONLY INCURRED BY THE CAPPERS PICK. If you will notice some of the guys at the bottom have a higher win percentage than some at the top. There are some of our better cappers at the bottom. I hope this helps explain it... RR84

I understand you are trying to rank the cappers and sometimes cappers get a loss for a no pick or a late pick or because they stopped posting for the year. For my archives, I try to do this too. If someone stopped posting, I try to include their record only up until they stopped posting. Just for the archives and record book. That's why I try to tell guys to keep making picks even if you are out of the running.

Thank you Widestrides, I know most people don't care either way, but there are many that do. I honestly was trying to help the people who do care. I wasn't trying to single anybody out or start anything. I know you keep up with everyone's record and so does Wisconsin. Even though he didn't have a good season this year, there are reasons for that. But by my records, both he and you are two of the top cappers at least for the last 4 years.

So, maybe keeping up with everyone's record isn't such a bad idea. I believe anything you can do to help yourself get an edge is a good thing. I was just trying to help those who don't. I have it broken down by both contests and I would be glad to share with anyone who wants it. Again, wasn't trying to tick nobody off at all.

Actually, started doing everyone's record this way because you can miss a guy who really may know his stuff if you don't. Thank you for your response WS. RR84
