Anyone have any good picks or know anyone with good pick for this saturday's race?

Always like to hit the OTB for the Derby, make some small wagers, play some golf, and then watch the race over some cocktails. that evening.

I went one year and it was really fun too.

I am just starting to look at the field and I am not a good horse bettor so any info is helpful!

But on the other hand, the derby is kind of like the super bowl, just another wagering opportunity, nothing to bet over your head on as there are better values out there!

Borel is riding "twice the appeal" so you can nver rule that little bugger out who has a secret language with his horses.

I agree, Borel worth a shot to at least hit the board. You really have to toss the favs here if you're betting to win. On the other hand, if you're betting the exotics, you kinda have to include one or two.

After going through the field, I've come up with 6 that I'll use in exactas and trifectas. For the most part they are all closers, a couple deep closers and some who like to stay middle of the pack.

When the early speed fades, they should all have a shot at hitting the board.

I used one of the favs, Dialed In, and tossed Uncle Mo alltogether.

Two picks to win at nice prices are Archarcharch and Mucho Macho Man.

yeah, I was all over ArchArchArch until I saw him draw the #1 hole. Not saying he cannot dig out and it may be one of those over-blown angles, but he was my fav as my longer shot and now I am backing down and maybe passing altogether on him.

Do like Animal Kingdom and Nehro too.

I learned quite a bit about horse racing and these horse reading the articles at BW and a couple other places so thanks for those.

I see Master of Hands in this. Maybe not to win, but right in the mix with
Dialed In and Nehro. I'm leaving Archarch as a 3rd or 4th finisher. So...

I hit Animial Kingdom for a win on a $2 wager.

And then bet Nehro at a sportsbook 2/1 to place.

Lost a couple others but overall a profit for the day. Thanks for the insight BW!

I do see Dialed In coming on strong in the next race. He got pinned but made a comeback so I am sure he will be favored again in the next rung of the TC.
