  • NFL Futures Update at the quarter pole

It's one thing to speculate before the season begins......yet another after you've had a look at all the teams. Four games in, it looks to me like there is some value on the board. Be interesting to look back at this thread in January.

    To win the Super Bowl........

How about the Cardinals at 30/1 ? They certainly aren't getting any respect. Will they fade? They have allowed the 3rd fewest points in the NFL. They are #1 in yards per point differential. #1 in yards per point defensively and #4 offensively. They do get the 49ers twice......but hey, they held the Pats to just 18 points in their own building. 30/1?

The Bears at 20/1 - I don't know. Maybe not. Their numbers look good but then, their wins have been against the Colts, Cowboys and Rams (cowboys suck by the way).

    A few more.......

    Vikings 70/1
    Giants 25/1
    Chargers 20/1

The Cards look like the best value on the board. Someone posted a thread before the Pats game about the Cards going back to last year. 5-1 down the stretch. They lost to the Ravens last year by just 3. They beat the 49ers in week 14. Now they are 4-0. Coincidence? Or maybe this is a pretty good football team?

They are also 13/1 to win the NFC.......remember, all you need to do is get them close to that title game and the hedging opportunities open up (if you don't feel they can win it).

    Thoughts??

Arizona at 30-1 to win the super bowl?

Take a big shovel dig a hole and plant all the money you want on Arizona to win.

I got NYG at 25-1 two weeks ago for a small piece of change. Now at 18-1 at SportsInteraction. Couple other ones that caught my eye, longshots I know but.... Cincy 40-1 and NOrleans 80-1.

Cards are 11-2 in last 13 games with wins over Eaglesx2/Patriots/49ers/Seahawksx2/Cowboys.

30-1 would be a great bet. ($100 to win $3,000).

When (if) they make the playoffs, put a bet on the money line to hedge some money back.

If they are a favorite (home filed advantage) may be able to middle the bet with points.

Kevin Kolb struggled with a new offense and a short training camp last year. Two different injuries side railed the learning curve.

He is slowly learning to execute this offense and could take this team far in the playoffs.

The defense/special teams could be approaching the Ravens type domination. This team finds a way to
              get turnovers.

Yeah, I mean, it's early, but they are at the top of the charts in some categories I chart, with Ravens like numbers. Or this year, Texans like numbers. You can look at the Miami game, an say they aren't very good. Or you can look at the Miami game and say, they found a way to win, like good teams do.

Of course, if they lay an egg Thursday night against the Rams, you'll be able to get 50/1.

The 30/1 was at 5 Dimes.
