Cincy -5 / 45
I don't have much time today. I've got to take my Dad to an oral surgeon 2hrs away and won't even be back to watch the game. The guy I sometimes buy picks from likes a 7 pt teaser with Cincy +2.5 and OV 38 but he picked when it was 4.5. I don't have time to list all his reasons (can't cut and paste it) but there are some especially strong trends that support teasing the OV. As for the side, he says "since 2010 the Bengals are 6-0 SU and 5-0-1 ATS as a road favorite when not playing the Browns. And since 2004 road favorites of over 1 pt who have a winning record and have better records than their opponents are 17-2 SU and 15-4 ATS. In addition, teasing the over in this situation has gone 15-3-1."
As far as I'm concerned, trusting Cincy to win scares the hell out of me. I've seen them blow too many games this year that it looked like they had in hand. And Philly has been playing better lately. They were leading Carolina 22-21 going into the 4th Q. They probably should have won at Dallas and then they won at TB.
Based on that I took Philly +11.5 / OV 38 last night before I read his write-up. Since he was 'right on' with the NE/Hou game I decided to also play the other way so I have also taken Cincy +2 / OV 38.....it scares me counting on them on the road against a team playing better and gaining some confidence but he says "I don't see this team losing to the Eagles" and considering how accurate he was with NE/Hou (where I really liked HOU) I will heed his advice and hope to win both ways. But like I said, there are very strong reasons to support this game going over 38.
And now for the moment you've all been waiting for.........
Herbert the Bird's pick!
As most of you know Herbert is 3-0 on his picks so far winning with,
Was +3 over NYG (SU winner)
Den -10 @ Oakland (winner)
NE -5.5 vs Hou (winner)
To describe his methodology, I write each possible outcome on a 2 in. x 2 in. piece of paper and then fold twice to make a small square. To get him in the mood I bat him about the head and facial area with both pieces to get him riled up. I then place each piece near him and let him tear away at them. The first one to reach the floor is his pick (don't laugh...it seems to work well)
Tonite his pick is.......
Cincinnati -5
Good luck everyone!
